The Wire - The Complete Fifth Season25 reviews
Dominic West, Clark Johnson

Hbo Home Video, 2008

It is that good
The Wire is unlike any other show your going to see on TV. It goes against any and everything that has come before, and likely after. Each season is like a part in an ever expanding story, each episode a chapter, the whole series a book. Each season takes place after another, during the time off between seasons, the characters and the city continue to thrive and grow, the chracters keep ...

Pokemon Movie - The Rise of Darkrai10 reviews
Pokémon Movie 10

VIZ VIDEO, 2008

From A Collector
I'm an avid DVD collector who loves collecting series. I got "The Rise of Darkrai" because one of the series I collect is Pokemon. Both the movies and the series (in order up to Orange Islands now). This DVD is welcome being that it is a movie. There is no special features. I am entirely grateful for it. However, I dislike the fact that I'm forced to sit through a Mystery Dungeon preview ...

    10 Things I Hate About You427 reviews
Kyle Cease, Cameron Fraser

Touchstone Pictures, 1999

One, if not my favorite, of my favorite movives.
I really like this movie, because it's realistic and funny and sweet and just gives you butterflies. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger were great in this film. My favorite scene was the paintball one, it was so cute and romantic. I would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. RIP Heath!

South Park: The Complete Eleventh Season15 reviews
South Park

Comedy Central, 2008

An Amazing Season
With almost every season of South Park you always have the odd one or two episodes that weren't really that good. Season 1 it was Weight Gain 4000, Season 2 it was Terrence & Phillip in not without my Anus and so on, as with all seasons although you have the bad episodes, you always have your personal favourites but Season 11 is in my personal view the strongest and most unique season to date. ...

This Is Spinal Tap (Special Edition)374 reviews
Fran Drescher, Christopher Guest

MGM (Video & DVD), 2000

If you don't laugh all the way through this movie...
... you're a preserved moose. This is a masterpiece of satire and deliciously detailed comedy. It also bulges with some of the daftest, most accurate send-ups of how terrible rock lyrics often are - and how we've all bought the records by the ton! - an outrageously OTT Nigel Tufnel guitar-solo of a film!

The Wire - Seasons 1-414 reviews
Stephen Zaleski, Michael Stone Forrest

Hbo Home Video, 2007

People will watch The Wire 100 years from now
Not a single tired cliche, characterization short-cut or unbelievable plot point. Not a single action motivated by anything other than the character's personality. If Dickens were alive today he would have been one of the writers. The older I get the more critical I become of film/TV. I almost don't like anything anymore. It's easy for me to explain why so many other shows are poorly ...

Grindhouse Presents, Death Proof - Extended and Unrated (Two-Disc Special Edition)381 reviews
Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson

The Weinstein Company, 2007

Don't quit on Tarantino until you get your dessert
It's true; Death Proof starts out a bit slow. Don't quit on Tarantino, however, because he eventually delivers. If you've enjoyed his past works, stick around for the ride and you will be pleasantly entertained. On one hand, this movie is ground-breakingly original. It's a seamless blend of various genres, with great camera work and character development, and an homage to old fashioned ...

The Nightmare Before Christmas [Blu-ray] + Digital Copy420 reviews
L. Peter Callender, Randy Crenshaw

WALT DISNEY STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT, 2008

Saw this at the Disney booth at Comic-Con...
The verdict: Christmas is early this year. Among other cool Nightmare stuff (including a $24K reproduction of Halloween Town that's just a leeetle out of my reach), they had the prototype of this Collector's set on display in a glass case, along with the DVD and Blu-ray (the packaging for both of these was pretty cool. The DVD had a 3-D relief portrait of Jack). The pics of this collector's ...

    The Secret [Blu-ray]4 reviews
David Duchovny, Lili Taylor

IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT, 2008

Gets there without crossing that line...
Duchovny is one of my favorites and that main trailer had my customers asking lots of questions so I made sure to fit in this warped little title this weekend. The story is laid out explicitly on the DVD case and in the trailer. Really all that was left to discover was how believable they made it and whether they cross any gross-out lines of keeping it "in the family". The performances were ...

    Robot Chicken: Star Wars15 reviews
Mark Hamill, George Lucas

Turner Home Ent, 2008

Stay away from this
If you have no sense of humor, stay away from this. It can only make your day worse. On the other hand, if you have a sense of humor, buy this. It's close to the funniest thing I have ever seen. It helps if you like twisted humor. Robot Chicken probably offends some people. This is laugh out funny stuff. If you watch the extras, which are mostly worth watching, you will realize how ...

    Lonesome Dove296 reviews
Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones

Lions Gate, 2002

Lonesome Dove.
This is an exellent western movie I wish I'd watched it when it was first released.Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones are just superb. The other actors are also very good. The departure of Duvall I did not like but I guess the director Simon Wincer knew what he was doing. Yes I will watch it again.
