Red Planet159 reviews
Benjamin Bratt, Val Kilmer

Warner Home Video, 2001

My spleen is ruptured.
The Red Planet DVD The Red Planet is a science fiction movie based on the premise that mankind has polluted earth so much humans have to relocate to another planet. Mars seems handy. Cdr. Bowman (Carrie-Anne Moss) leads an expedition to test Mars sustainability as Humankind's new home. Val Kilmer, also stars. All-in-all a pretty good science fiction film. I recommend it. Recommended ...

The Great Raid (Full Screen Edition)119 reviews
Benjamin Bratt, Joseph Fiennes

Miramax Home Entertainment, 2005

The Great Raid
I personally knew Sgt. Major Kittleson, who was a Pvt. at the time of "The Great Raid". He was the only living soldier that had liberated POW's in three wars. As I understand it, this movie was a spinoff of the Sgt. Major's book "Raiders", so I just had to see the movie. Though graphic, which war is, it was well done, and something I will view again.

Clear and Present Danger [Blu-ray]89 reviews
Harrison Ford, Willem Dafoe

Paramount, 2008

Visually Disappointing But Audibly Exciting on Blu ray
In typical studio fashion, Paramount has transfered this exact same master that was temporarily released on HD DVD early this year which was a mixed bag and not what these films, the fans of the films, or high def owners deserve. I really enjoy the first 3 Jack Ryan films, the 4th not so much because of Ben Affleck and because it's just too out of sync with the previous trilogy. The first 3 ...

Meryl Streep Can Play Any Role
Meryl Streep takes the lead in this adventure gone action movie. Kevin Bacon always plays a great villain. This movie is beautifully shot. Great outdoor action movie.

East Los back in the day...
I give this movie a 5 out of 5. I'm from East L.A. and this shows what it was like back in the day, pretty close. The only thing I didn't like was the pinche hüero's acting but besides that, it was all good.

Demolition Man112 reviews
Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes

Warner Home Video, 1997

Unexpected delight!
The first time I saw this film, I did so because there was nothing else on the boob tube. It quickly became one of my top 5 favorite films of all time. This script is so wonderfully fresh, and Stallone really shows his comic genius with his delivery. Sandra Bullock was teriffic in this role, and although I've seen this film at least 50 times, it still makes me laugh and marvel at the clever ...

Miss Congeniality (Deluxe Edition)345 reviews
Sandra Bullock, Michael Caine

Warner Home Video, 2005

Gets funnier every time I watch it!
There's a reason why this funny Sandra Bullock movie is the favorite of so many women of various ages. In a very lighthearted way, it makes a statement about having it all and empowering yourself. The situations are I-Love-Lucy kind of absurd, most of the characters are charicatures, but I adore this film! Most importantly, Miss Congeniality has stood the test of multiple viewings. I ...

Thumbsucker45 reviews
Lou Taylor Pucci, Tilda Swinton

Thumbsucker review
For an indie, the lack of obnoxious dialog makes Thumbsucker more enjoyable than other recent indie films about high school students. The student counselor who makes Justin's ADD diagnosis with a pamphlet shows a popular additude towards students like him. The Polyphonic Spree made a very fitting soundtrack and the visual effects are subtle. "Neo" as the dentist is a nice touch.

Great fun movie, bring on the sequel
I saw this movie on DVD because they never brought it to our cinema. I subsequently tried to purchase it on DVD but that order never arrived. I must have Patience's bad luck with this movie! Either way, I am determined to own it because it's a really fun movie and has a plausible storyline that actually makes sense to me, is thought-provoking and is not overdone or over-acted, contrary to what ...

The Woodsman109 reviews
Kevin Bacon, David Alan Grier

Sony Pictures, 2005

EXTREMELY CHALLENGING, BUT AMAZING FILM.
The Woodsman is a 2004 movie by first time director Nicole Kassel and stars Kevin Bacon, Kira Sedgwick, Eve, Mos Def, and Benjamin Brath. Make no mistake about this, This IS an extremely hard movie to watch! It deals with pedophilia head-on, and you WILL find this movie disturbing. The movie jumps right into the life of Walter(Kevin Bacon), A convicted pedophile just released after 12 years in ...

A film made with the heart
I always had the dream that some day the true history of the cuban people tragedy become known to the world throught a real piece of art that show the inmense suffer that Castro's Cuban Revolution inflict on the cuban families. This film is the best try I know in this respect. And when you note that Andy Garcia is the producer, director, plays the main role, writes many of the film music, and ...

The Next Best Thing109 reviews
Madonna, Rupert Everett

Paramount, 2000

5 Stars! Thought-provoking and Deep
Finally, a film that is much less cynical than most love stories I've seen. Forgiveness is a rare lesson taught in Hollywood, much less TOLERANCE. The Director/Writer both illustrated an idea-- Love is what people need, not conventionality or normalcy. The parts of Rupert's grandparents show a contrast in accepting their son's lifestyle. My favorite character was the grandmother, but Madonna did ...

Katie Holmes, Benjamin Bratt

Paramount, 2003

Much more than you may think...
I remember when I went and saw this for the first time and everyone I was with thought it was terrible. I remember being in shock because I thought it was quite good. Granted, at the time of its release I was in love with Katie Holmes and thought she could do no wrong. Now, years later I decided to watch this again to see if it holds up now that my fascination with Holmes has diminished due to ...
