Subterranean hokum at it's finest!
War-Gods of the Deep aka The City Under the Sea scared the heck out of me me as a very small kid, but then I did live in a coastal town that was rumored to have it's own sunken town... Vincent Price and his immortal band of smugglers living in a somewhat mislocated Babylonian city under the Cornish stretch of the English Channel didn't have the same effect this time, but Jacques Tourneur's ...

All you need to know about "Road House" is included in the following.
This flick has hot babes (especially Kelly Lynch as a hot blonde doctor), total butt kicking action, Patrick Swayze's cheesy one liners, ninja bouncing moves, and mullet..should I continue? Okay then. Dalton is supposively THE best bouncer in the business. He killed a dude 'cuz the lady friend he was bangin' never told him that she was married, he tears out a guy's throat with his bare ...

A movie to watch often.
Sometimes you find a movie that is so thoroughly enjoyable that you find yourself playing it over and over. This movie seems to find its way back into my dvd player whenever there is nothing on tv or when I need some enjoyment to pick up my spirits. It's another nice little Canadian movie that works on every level. It was extraordinarily well written, cast and directed. The acting was ...

LOVED IT!!!
I really loved this movie!! The first time I watched it, I was with some friends, and they were all like, "Seriously, a movie made in Canada, you're not really gonna make us watch this, right?" And, "Is this another of your weird Stargate type things?" Well they watched, and while I laughed harder, they did enjoy themselves. On a not so side note--Kate and David Hewlett acting ...

Stargate Atlantis Rising
I have never been able to see the whole movie when it's been on TV - but I am a big fan of the series. So it was wonderful to sit down and watch "how it all began"! It is even better to know what the characters were like at the very beginning, and to see how friendships have evolved (tho being friends with McKay has got to be a challenge!!) And when the city rises from the ocean? Magic!! So ...

If you love Mark...
If you love Mark Harmon you really need to watch this. If Tom Capano was anything like Mark I would have fallen for his lies too. This is a heartbreaking true story of a young woman who falls for the wrong man, and unfortunately in this case the cost was her life. Mark is marvelous as usual the perfect mix of charm and terror. If you are prone to tears this may be a tough watch but I think ...

"What a nightmare" my friend said after we watched "Cube" the first time a few years back. Got that right. If you haven't seen this movie yet and enjoy being horrified and held in extended periods of suspense you are in for a wonderful time. I just typed out a paragraph describing the plot and setting of the movie, but nevermind. If you haven't seen it yet, it's best if you go in knowing ...

This was a gift for my husband. He had looked at all the stores and couldn't find it. Amazon always has what I'm looking for in DVDS. My husband has enjoyed this movie very much. For all you James Woods fans I would recommend this DVD highly!!!

Still crazy after all these years!
Masque of the Red Death was my absolutel favorite of all the Vincent Price movies. I first saw it as part of a double feature (remember those?) along with an Annette and Frankie surfing movie. Well, I have little memory of the content of that beach-party film, but Masque of the Red Death has remained a life-long favorite! Bunus! It's a double-feature again, this time without the sand and surf, ...

..and here we are again.
"The Life Before This," never before has tradegy been displayed so beautifully. Out of jest one night, I was pacing up and down the aisles at the local video store. Nothing was looking good at all, and after just skimming titles, I decided to get 'int depth' about certain movies that looked appealing, yet none that were quite mainstream. So after doing so, I just saw the cover of this box. It ...

Wish there were more films out of Canada like this one
Excellent script, dialog, cast, etc. The characters were fully believable and it's too bad the actors only had a two hour movie to explore them. Martin Cummins and David Hewlett were especially good as the up-tight, controlling Yuppie and the hapless musical screwup respectively. Maybe there'll be a sequel or something similar? I'm just happy they set the story in Canada and then did NOT ...

Great mystery thriller!
This is one of the best movies about The Bermuda Triangle. It was done really well for a tv movie. Very interesting storyline about a ghost ship. It had mystery, suspense, horror, etc. Hard movie to get a hold of though. Another good movie is The Bermuda Triangle (1996). Good luck finding it though.

Lighthearted
This is a wide screen edition with no extras on the disc. The regular network stations used to play this movie on weekends when I was a kid. It is a wonderful light hearted film about a group of spoiled rich kids getting kicked out and trying to make it on their own. It is in no way a serious, true to life film. More like a fanciful fairytale that naturally has a happy ending. The cast of ...

Enjoyable and Visually Appealling Film
Although the story-telling and pacing leave a lot to be desired, this is a nice addition to the very collectible MGM Midnite Movies series. Great sets, locations, and actors (Vincent Price, whom many would pay to hear him recite his laundry list) make this a very visually appealing film. I disagree with Maltin's comment about the "shoddy underwater city". For its time, the visual effects (with ...

This is an exceptional movie. The plot is full of twists and the acting and the effects are decent, to say the least. I have first watched this one in theater and I decided that I must own it. I don't buy too many DVd's, but I believed this is special. The movie is among the best I have seen in a couple of years. The packing and the overall quality of the product was very good, as is the ...

Oh, you crazy Canadians
Yeah for Nothing! Two friends with more than the common amount of neurosis hate the outside world away. They're left with half a house, Stan the turtle, each other, and, of course, Nothing. The strange visual texture of the city of Toronto provides a great contrast for the expansive Nothing that dominates the screen for most of the movie. The animation sequences during the opening/closing ...
