Inspired by true events.
This story was inspired by true events and tells a heroic tale of a police officer who refused to give in to the corrupt practice of taking bribes. Serpico just wants to be a good cop and do his job well, but this is difficult when you have to watch over your shoulder for a bullet that might be coming from one of your fellow officers. There's also a great book by the same name, so don't just ...

Great War Movie! Great Biopic! Great DVD!
This is one of the very, very few great Hollywood movies about historical events and personalities in which hardly any liberties or revisionist history attempts have been made and yet the unadulterated "true" story is still so dramatic and exciting. This movie is fully deserving of all 8 of the Oscars that it won and is not only among the top 5 war movies that I've ever seen but is also among ...

My favorite Childhood film
I love this movie. My favorite song in the movie is It's a Hard Knock Life for us! This movie was everything I loved about musical genre the plot enhanced by singing and dancing. The best scene is when Annie goes to Daddy Warbucks Mansion. I truly would have loved to be in that bed the maids were fixing up it looked comfy and warm like a cloud on a summer's day. I especially adored everyone who ...

The Manchurian Candidate (special edition)
I bought this film because I couldn't find it at Blockbuster. I had rented the new version with Denzel Washington and really didn't feel that it's story was ever fleshed out or fully developed. Well, after watching the original, the story really jelled and all of the characters were fully developed. And the acting was superb! It has a bit of a feel for the paranoid in all of us who believe ...

Absolutely superb!
I purchased this dvd back in 2005, and i have to say it was one of the best concerts on dvd that i'd ever seen. I was just a little fella when this event took place, but Al Bell had a serious sound going on down there in Memphis. I've always been a big fan of Isaac Hayes, and to see him performing along with some of the other r&b greats on here was a tremendous treat. I only regret not being old ...

One of my favorite movies
Movie showed up on time and in perfect condition. As much as I enjoy this movie (and have for years), the producers comments about the making of the movie were even more enjoyable and interesting then the movie itself. I will not give away any of what I learned. Also the comments were quite substantial. So I spent one evening watching the comments and another night watching the movie.

Guarding Tess
THis is a favourite and a fun movie. Shirley MacLaine does a wondeful performance of an ex-First Lady who knows she is in the middle of nowhere with not much of a life. Nicolas Cage is great as the annoyed head of her security detail. The DVD arrived quickly and in great shape.

Enter A Time When Love Was More Than An Act
Epic fantasy, and romanticism on a grand scale were hallmarks of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and despite the fact that, in the first season at least, there was not so much as one 'real' kiss between the two phenomenal lead actors ( Linda Hamilton, and Ron Perlman ), the State of New York could have been lit up with the electricity generated by them. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was also blessed with ...

Goldie's finest film?
This movie ranks high among my favorites of all time. I saw it as a kid on television, and then later on VHS. I'm so happy that is now available on DVD. Goldie is so adorable and beautiful in this film. She has this wide-eyed innocence about her which few other actresses possess. It's like she's pretty and sexy, yet she is so innocent and unassuming...she has no idea that she drives men wild! ...

4.75 Stars. There is life that preys on us as we prey on the earth. A Horror film with a message.
Wolfen is not a werewolf movie, don't go into this film expecting or wanting that, go into this film with an open mind. At the beginning of the film a real estate tycoon is killed, his wife, and there driver by something unknown. A New York City Detective Dewey Wilson is put on the case who is played by Albert Finney. Dewey has had personal problems, he eats donuts after running and he ...

Add my five to the list
This is a GREAT film. Buy it, watch it -- again and again. Someone said it is based on a story by Joseph Conrad. I am not sure of this, but I do know there is good reason to believe that this story, or something very much like, it happened in real life. Most people know who Ridley Scott is, and what his movies are. While this movie is smart and beautiful in every detail, I think it is ...

Trinity and Beyond is spectacular!
I had caught a glimpse of this movie on cable and knew immediately that I had to have it. The movie is eerie and powerful and the soundtrack adds such a punch it will move you. William Shatner narrates with a calm, matter-of-factness which only adds to the feeling of how the U.S. military continually tested with no regard to the environment. We all understand how the U.S. needed to develop ...

All Brave Men
The Wall Street Journal stated: "So satisfying, so superb, so rich on so many levels." I cannot agree more. The Gathering Storm was a winner of three emmys (outstanding movie, lead actor (Albert Finney) and for writing). On every level, it was exceptional. The tension and the quality of the relationship between the Churchills was captured so well in the chemistry that was shown in the acting ...

Excellent
Honeydripper is probably one of the best movies I've seen in the last year or so, besides the Great Debaters. Danny Glover gives a great performance of a bar/club owner who has to compete with the new sounds of the day, rock & roll, as opposed to the blues singing that was the prominent popular music along with Jazz for so many years. It's set in the south and portrays things the way they were ...

A Masterful Work and Presentation by Cobb
An insightful play about the realities of life. Cobb gives a standup performance in this classic play equal to none. Actors of his caliber are few and far between. Simply the best performance of this play to date. Lee becomes Willy in a somewhat scary portrayal. It is hard to tell the difference between Lee and Willy. Highly Recommend this version to serious theatre affcianados.

70's classic
Great example of a 70's "thriller" movie. The giant fake ants are pretty good for the time it was made. It also has the obvious funny shots with real ants ( pre CGI ). It worth watching for the 1970's atmosphere....that is something they can't duplicate now days.
