The Day the Earth Stood Still333 reviews
Frances Bavier, Billy Gray

20th Century Fox, 2003

Excellent Sci-Fi
Some reviewers say this is dated but then again so is Star Wars. Here you get above average acting and an intelligent script. Now that is dated! Still most of the credit should go to Robert Wise the director and the fantastic cinematography. What beautiful lighting design. This film is mostly for Sci-Fi film buffs. And " Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!" is a gem. I doubt I could have kept a straight ...

Man in the Attic3 reviews
Jack Palance, Constance Smith

Alpha Video, 2006

Jack "The Knife" Palance...
A mysterious pathologist named Slade (Jack Palance) takes a room in a boarding house in London, run by a woman (Frances "Aunt B" Bavier) and her husband. Of course, this happens during the infamous Jack The Ripper murder spree, which adds menace and suspicion to the proceedings. Slade not only takes a room, but also works on secret projects in the attic! He comes and goes like a shadow and stays ...

Bend Of The River27 reviews
James Stewart, Arthur Kennedy

Universal Studios, 2003

One of the better Westerns of Jimmy...
Another classic Western offering starring Jimmy Stewart. There is not much to be said about this DVD transfer, just that as MGM/UA, even Universal Studios don't do too much with their classics, except transferring their Films in digital format. One must also add, that so far, since the copies transferred, where almost pristine looking, save some minor scratches and dust speckles, their ...

Benji24 reviews
Patsy Garrett, Allen Fiuzat

Good Times Video, 2004

A True Masterpiece
As a kid, I always thought of Benji as a cool dog who got along with everyone and was very playful. Now as a young adult with a much matured mind, I view the canine from the other side of the picket fence with the hole... From a professional film making standpoint, I admit the movie is subpar in terms of acting and casting. Throughout much of the film, there are stagnant pauses in speech ...

The Andy Griffith Show (16 episodes)3 reviews
Andy Griffith, Ron Howard

RainTree Home video, 2003

this DVD is great!
This DVD Contains 16 episodes. It also has classic commercials(which I love) and some classic cartoons. The only disadvantage is that the episodes don't contain the original music (which is so very stupid)! Also, the episode titles have been changed to something that does not fit in very well. (Can you believe that?) Anyway this is a great DVD and I would reccomend it!

The Bad Seed139 reviews
Nancy Kelly, Patty McCormack

Warner Home Video, 2004

Nice Shoes
I don't know which is scarrier: folks so deeply analyzing this film that they lose sight of its simple brilliance; or that when I told my sister that I had purchased the bad seed on dvd she said, "Well, that movie pretty much sums up my childhood...". As the name of Mufasa when spoken to Shenzi, the bad seed is full of tingles. Frankly I was blown away by it. Before becoming a film, it had ...

The Stooge12 reviews
Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis

Paramount, 2004

Jerry Lewis Breaks into Showbiz
I generally enjoy most of the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis movies. I find them to be consistently funny. Jerry Lewis is a master of physical comedy and his silliness, when used effectively, created excellent comedy. This movie may be a bit less than the best created by the Martin-Lewis team, but it is still very funny and nearly ranks with their best. Dean Martin plays struggling comedian ...
