Mr & Mrs Smith
I love this movie. Sure, the ending is a letdown and there's not much depth to the movie overall, but it is simply a fun ride along the way. The Blu-Ray version looks great. I'm not big into special features, to be honest, so it doesn't bother me that the disc is rather short on special features. I do wish that this had both versions - the Director's Cut (which I've never seen) and the ...

NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST, BUT CLOSE .
Roy Scheider is back as police Chief Martin Brody of the small town of Amity to hunt down another killer great white shark minus his sidekicks Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw. It appears another great white has made it's way into Amity to wreck havoc on the small town and scare away the summer tourists that the town relies on for it's summer dollars. As usual , once it's become quite clear to ...

This movie is great!
I first saw this when I was a kid when HBO was playing constantly. I loved it then, and I'm surprised at how much I still enjoy it. Simply told, a poorly treated mother gets to escape for a summer with her boyfriend. She deems her daughter too immature and selfish to run the house, so she hires a baby sitter. Good call, except the old lady dies the first night. The story stays good, and the ...

A FEEL GOOD MOVIE!
Anything Tyler Perry produces I love. His plays, films make you think positive and have fun doing it. This woman's life was out of control. After three affairs which produced children, she'd lost the art of trusting. So when she meets Mister Hot-Hot-Hottie, she was soooo chilly. But finally he wins her over, anyway this film shows the power of good hearts and family. I loved it!

Funny Moive Reminiscent of Airplane
After having seen the dreadful Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans (the word "excrement" comes to mind), I was wary of another lousy Airplane wannabe. However, seeing the Zucker name attached to this flick was somewhat encouraging. People who complain about the movie sticking too closely to the Spiderman story apparently never saw Airplane, which stuck very closely to the Airport movies. What ...

A celebration of excitement and excess
Michael Bay's films are an odd addition to the Criterion collection, until you recall the Criterion Collection's mission statement reads "All we ask is that each film in the collection be an exemplary film of its kind." Armageddon is ultimate distillation of Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer's commercial action movie formula, a formula that they introduced in Bad Boys (Special Edition), ...

My favorite Movie
This is one of those sleeper movies that no one has heard of. I rented it when it first came out and usually every year there after. I don't mean to but I always cry, from the gut cry. My Daughter forbid me to buy this movie, but now that she is 26 I feel as an adult I can handle it. I popped it in the DVD recorder the music started & I was gone for 2 hours. I love Richard Dreyfuss, Holly ...

Modern Classic
The only reason I rented this movie was because I loved the music on the trailer I watched. Wow. Words really can't describe all the emotions this movie made me feel, ansd I think it may be the only film that has made me feel this way. I loved the story, character, tthe way it was filmed, and oh my god the symbolism! I think that if you had 10 diffrent people sit down at the same time and asked ...

Finally!!
On a whim I looked to see how much the VHS of this movie now cost. Last time I looked it was $200. I was estatic to see that there was now a DVD version of this movie out! This has been a family favorite for years. My grandparents own it and everytime my family got to their house us kids would watch the whole thing no matter what time we got to there. This is a great movie and shows how different ...

A "MUST" for any Beatles fan!!!
I bought this anthology as a present for my dad who is, still, the greatest Beatles fan in the world. He really wanted to see some live concerts, but I wasn't sure whether these DVDs would satisfy his curiosity. I watched the 5 DVDs with my dad and they were unbelievably entertaining. They present the Beatles in a new light - these guys were very funny and easy going. It was a pleasure to follow ...

What We Perceive
It's a real case of beginner's luck for first-time director Paul Haggis. Having already scored an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay (Million Dollar Baby), Haggis takes the director's chair for this project and scores a big hit, one which won him Best Picture of 2005. With an all-star cast, a haunting score by Mark Isham and a thought-provoking screenplay, "Crash" is a bold tapestry of ...

"I know Im human..."
This has to be one of the very best science fiction movies ever made. It is pure atmosphere/mystery/horror from the unusual opening to the ambiguous ending. A group of isolated scientists in Antarctica encounter an alien species that can literally duplicate in almost exacting detail any other animal. Carpenter had the guts to make John Campbell's original novella 'Who Goes There?' quite literally ...

Technicolor Treasure
Why did they ever stop using technicolor film? Some of the best old movies (Gone With the Wind, Ten Commandments, Wizard of Oz) stand the test of time because of the exceptional color that made costumes, scenery, and people seem to leap off the screen. The Black Swan is a visual treat: lots of color and beauty, not only on handsome Tyrone Power and beautiful Maureen O'Hara, but also in ...

After twenty-odd years, still funny!
This is one of those"Timeless" comedies, one that never seems to grow old. In his most famous role, Paul Reubens stars as Pee-Wee Herman, an eccentric boy whose one passion in his life is his bicycle. He lives with his dog, Speck, and seems to have a care-free existence, until the day his treasured bike is stolen. He then embarks on a cross-country journey to find it, and meets a variety of ...

Castaways
In Search of the Castaways I'm a big fan of Hayley Mills and Maurice Chevalier. This is family entertainment. A couple of excitable moments. But this is a G rated film and no one is hurt -- they actually try to insert a little humor. It was nice to sit down and watch a movie and actually come away smiling.

A Classic 90's Western More Gunslingin' With Superbit!
The Quick And The Dead [Superbit Version] (8.5/10) Back in 1995, director Sam Raimi was at a bit of a crossroads. After his accomplishments through the Evil Dead series, yet not yet to his A Simple Plan/Spider-Man level, he made this fast paced Western that in alot of way feels like both time periods of himself. However, this Western plays differently than most revenge types, ...
