The Doors (special edition)
Although I have never agreed with drug use at all, I have always enjoyed the music of Jim Morrison and the Doors. (and many other groups of the 60's and 70's)... I also love the acting ability of Val Kilmer, and he is awesome in this role. The movie is very well made, the music is fantastic, the storyline is wonderful, yet so sad... I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who likes the Doors...

Dune (1984) [HD DVD]663 reviews
Francesca Annis, Leo Cimino

Universal Studios, 2006

Totally amazing
This HD DVD is amazing, the DVD versions of Dune are usually very dark with noisy stereo sound. This one's image and sound is crystal clear. If you like Dune, you should have it.

Justice League: The New Frontier Special Edition [Blu-ray]150 reviews
Phil Morris, Neil Patrick Harris

Warner Home Video, 2008

Perfect comic book adaptation - one of DC's best produced DVDs
This was probably the best adaptation to feature from a comic book story. Not only the story was very true to the original, but the art itself was also inspired by the comics. Darwyn Cooke assisted in the creation of the DVD, and the only thing that was missing from the story were subtle elements that were removed for the sake of length. Originally, the story was presented in a large ...

Showgirls (Fully Exposed Edition)262 reviews
Elizabeth Berkley, Kyle MacLachlan

MGM (Video & DVD), 2007

OMFG! How did I miss this? ONE OF THE GREAT FILMS OF THE 90'S!!!
The editing in this thing is spectacular!!! Here it is! Trash as high art, and here I was writing Paul Verhoven off after a string of irritating Hollywood bores (basically everything after 'Robocop.') I never bothered with 'Showgirls,' for years, but this is Directorial Genius - all the more impressive for turning an absolute P.O.S. script into visually ecstatic gold! Verhoven has regained his ...

Flawless. A genuine classic
Twin Peaks - The Definitive Gold Box Edition (The Complete Series)Mulholland DriveAmerican Beauty (Widescreen Edition) When you watch the opening scene of the 1986 classic Blue Velvet, you know your in for something special, a completely original experience. Twin Peaks Gold Box Edition
Alright I completely understand your frustation for those who bought seasons 1-2 special edition sets, ( not cheap might I add ) only to find out about this a few months later...it hurts. The real tell should of been what was missing in the first sets, come on no pilot...really. Well this is what should of been there the first time, the motherload. If you liked this series, this is everything you ...

Twin Peaks - The Second Season114 reviews

It never loses its appeal
I have been waiting for the remaining part of the Twin Peaks saga on DVD for a long time. This second season DVD set is much better video quality than the first season, although it is still not great. Unfortunately the Log Lady intros are appalling in quality although the content stays as contentious. Twin Peaks is a series you either like or hate. I happen to like the Dali like surrealism and ...

The stone age family of the 1990's
Flintstones! Meet the Flintstones! They're the modern stone-age family. From the town of Bedrock, they're a place right out of history! Many people remember the 1960-66 ABC animated sitcom created by the late William Hanna and the late Joseph Barbera. It was an all-color series, despite its 1960 premiere. Well, back then color was already common for animation but not yet for live action. Director ...

Jimi Mistry, Kyle MacLachlan

great fun
refreshing and funny ! don't worry about nit-picking the details - it's meant as a light hearted romp - and should be enjoyed as such. Kyle McLaughlin was wonderful as 'Cary Grant'. He's grown up into a far more handsome man than you might expect from his 'Dune' beginnings.

Modern Shakespeare
Great video. I used it in the classroom and showed several clips to coincide with the text. The casting director made some great choices and the director stays true to Shakespeare's story as he would want it told. The "To be or not to be" soliloquy is done beautifully--very introspective and spoken as Hamlet walks through a Blockbuster. There are a few things taken out of order, but only done ...

Decent TV remake of the 1961 version with Patrick Stewart as Capt. Nemo
Being a big fan of the original 1961 version of "Mysterious Island," I HAD to see this 2005 TV remake. Despite the somewhat lackluster reviews, a few things perked my interest, like Patrick Stewart (aka Star Trek's Captain Picard) as Captain Nemo, Gabrielle Anwar and the long runtime of 170 minutes, just ten minutes shy of 3 hours (!). What compelled me to seek out this DVD more than anything is ...

THE BOYFRIEND SCHOOL (AKA DON'T TELL HER IT'S ME)
I saw this movie years ago and absolutely loved it. The other day on tv I saw a movie starring Steve Guttenberg and it put in mind of this movie and I had to have it. So I bought it and when I watched it again after so many years, fell in love with ol' Stevie as Lobo all over again. Ladies, he looks HOT, HOT, HOT!!! It's a total chick-flick, and I love it!!
