Unfortunately, one must see the original to appreciate a great American Film, as so far NO remake has even come close! Thank you Steve and Faye.

The Waltons - The Complete Sixth Season26 reviews
Ronnie Claire Edwards, Nora Marlowe

Warner Home Video, 2008

Nothing like it on TV today...
We own all 5 prior seasons as well, and our 5, 8 and 9 year old sons beg for a "Waltons" show every night. We had already run through the 9 seasons of Little House on the Prairie and I was thrilled to find the Walton's and knew the boys would love it. This season was one I wondered about as the episodes are all new to me...about that time when the first run was on TV I started my teen years, ...

The Waltons - The Complete Fifth Season40 reviews

Children growing up
In this season you see Mary Ann getting married. You get a sad feeling that the parents are getting old and all the characters lives are changing rapidly. Mary Anns wedding and meeting her doctor husband was my favourite episode. Still all them are in there(which is good). I honestly liked the 5th and 7th season better but still a good watch.

Growing up and branching out
Season 3 finds John-Boy a freshman at Boatwright University, realizing his longtime dream of attending college and becoming a writer. Of course, it isn't easy -- unable to afford the cost of living there, he must commute the 28 miles each day. That's the least of John-Boy's problems, however, as he struggles to fit in amongst rich classmates who never thought twice about whether college would be ...

Simply the most uplifting TV series ever
I was a fan of the Waltons twenty-five years ago, but now that I'm older (and maybe wiser) I see what the series really has to offer - a precious look into a life style now almost forgotten. The show gives us a look into a simple, loving way of life we can all choose to create even in this complex 21st Century, if, of course, we see the value of it. My grandsons will be watching the series with ...

Westworld
Yul Brynner is relentless as the western gunshooter robot gone out of control. Great sci-fi type movie for all ages.

The Waltons - The Complete Seventh Season21 reviews

Warner Home Video, 2008

"Day of Infamy" extremely well done
"Day of Infamy" chronicles the impact of December 7, 1941 on The Walton family. It is an incredibly moving episode with very understated but strong performances. Ralph Waite, Judy Norton-Taylor, and David Harper are particularly outstanding in the final heartbreaking scene. I know my own grandparents had to endure a moment just like the one when Jim-Bob brings the telegram home to the family, ...

That Funny Feeling21 reviews
Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin

Universal Studios, 2004

That Funny Feeling
That Funny Feeling is a cute, lighthearted movie starring Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin. Don't expect an Oscar preformance but still it's a nice comedy that will make you smile. They play Joan Howell and Tom Milford who literly keep running into each other. They first meet at a news stand by Tom's apartment and he falls into her knocking her down. He helps her up and they go about their way. ...

The Waltons - The Complete First Four Seasons1 review
Ronnie Claire Edwards, Nora Marlowe

Warner Home Video, 2007

TV Classic Family and Series
As far as I'm concerned, this series ended when Richard Thomas left it after five seasons. When you watch the first four seasons, you understand why. People can make all the fun they want to with "John-Boy" but Richard Thomas and his portrayal of the oldest Walton child made this show was it continues to be -- an unmatched television classic.

Carnival of Crime/The Hostage3 reviews
Marion Cowper-Rae, Pearl Faessler

Bci / Eclipse, 2006

The Hostage
The Hostage was designed for suspense, and executed effectively. A boy is accidentally locked in the back of a moving van driven by two killers. A nosy neighbor saw him with a derelict in the park (John Carradine), leading everyone in the wrong direction while the boy witnesses the drivers burying their victim. The situation, similar to The Window (1949), or Home Alone without the comedy, is ...

Fantastic movie, one of Ms. Stapleton finest roles
I just saw this movie last night for the first time and I absolutely loved it. I bought the DVD because it seemed like a very good movie with a terrific cast and I couldn't agree more. Maureen Stapleton is excellent in this film and she plays Bea Asher, the recently widowed wife with great warmth and sincerity. She even sings in this movie and she does it very well I think. She is also a ...

The Waltons - Complete First Three Seasons
An all time favorite then and now. It's great to be able to enjoy The Waltons any time. The show has a lot to offer in terms of content, family values, etc. I recommend it for the generation that does not remember it on TV.
