One of my favorites of all time!
King of Kings is one of my favorite movies from the moment that I saw it. I love the cast, I love the clothes, the drama and the emotion behind the film. And I love Jeffrey Hunter in this role very much. I think he balances perfectly the devotion of the Christ but at the same the tenderness that he displayed. My favorite part in the film is where he cures the crippled boy without touching him and ...

What a movie!
I think when you put Vince Vaughn in most any comedy he will do a fine job. This is probably his funniest work to date. When you take the idea of dodge ball as a competitive sport you know its going to be funny. Most all of the supporting cast is funny, the only person that is not is Ben Stiller. I think he truly was trying not to be funny and really that was supposed to be his character. The ...

The Man Who Fell To Earth - Trippy and Beautiful
Anybody who loves science fiction as much as I do should have seen this movie a long time ago and studied it closely. Yet I only recently was introduced to The Man Who Fell to Earth and was mesmerized. For the time period it was made, it is visually incredible. The story line is also excellent considering how unbelievable the premise is. I would also state it is probably easily ...

Wonderful, sheer pleasure
I loved this movie, and find myself watching it over and over. It was very funny, far better than the so-called box-office hits. Down periscope is simple humor full of fun. Don't forget 9-11, showed us that the "That could never happen", can. Lt Commander Dodge, and his very misfit crew, out manuver his former skipper, that gave him a review that would have ended his (Cdr. Dodge's)career. It ...

So funny, So cool, Love BD-Live
I had forgotten this movie was so funny and good. Well executed. Good SFX. My boys loved it too. And BD-Live. Yes, admittedly a little slow to load but fun. A lot of potential there. How about downloading official subtitles that are not on the blu-ray? This is the future!

Beautiful
This movie was beautifully made. The costumery was outstanding, and the directing was exsquisite. However, I feel as though one must like to think in order to enjoy this movie. There is very little dialog, so one must be open and observant to the characters emotions. Great movie.

Did they know what they wrote?
I saw this movie a number of years ago and thought it was cute. When I found it on DVD I bought it thinking it would make a nice addition to my easy watching collection. I watched it and found it had a whole new meaning to me and wondered "Did they know what they wrote"? Very interesting point of view as well as fun to watch.
The Man Who Fell to Earth [Blu-ray]
David Bowie
, Rip Torn
Criterion Collection, 2008
The Man Who Fell to Earth is a daring exploration of science fiction as an art form. The story of an alien on an elaborate rescue mission provides the launching pad for Nicolas Roeg s visual tour de force, a formally adventurous examination of alienation in contemporary life. Rock legend David Bowie, in his acting debut, completely embodies the title role, while Candy Clark, Buck Henry, and Rip Torn turn in terrific supporting performances. The ...

Beyond the Law
Beyond the Law---Based on a true story, written as a real story. Nothing hokey in the story, dialogue or acting !!! It's a serious story with some light moments about a cop(with a troubling item in his past)who goes undercover to bust a notorius mid-west biker club(gang?) and goes a little over the edge---at one point going face-to-face,gun barrel-to-gun barrel with another cop who believes him to ...

HOSPITAL THRILLER
Coma BASED ON THE BOOK BY ROBIN COOK, THIS IS ONE OF THE LATE MICHAEL CRICHTON'S BEST FILM EFFORTS. GENEVIEVE BUJOLD PLAYS A RESIDENT DOCTOR WHO BECOMES CURIOUS ABOUT CERTAIN PATIENTS GOING INTO A STATE OF COMA, PARTICULARLY FROM O.R.8 (OPERATING THEATRE 8). MICHAEL DOUGLAS, ALSO A RESIDENT AT THE SAME HOSPITAL, DISBELIEVES HER AT FIRST BUT STEP BY STEP SLOWLY GETS CONVINCED THAT SHE IS RIGHT. ...

Wonderful "Wonder Boys"
"Wonder Boys" isn't quite a masterwork like Curtis Hanson's previous film, "L.A. Confidential," but it's excellent in its own way. The humor in the film is subtle, but there are several guffaws to be had. The film follows a college English professor played by Michael Douglas during the weekend of Wordfest, a literary celebration that brings out a best-selling author (Rip Torn) whose prolific ...

A writers film
I adored this film. But I must confess some personal bias here--first, because I've had a crush on Peter Coyote for most of my adult life (though his role here is definitely supporting, not major), and second, because my personal life parallels what Rawlings experienced--though I came to a mountain (with a creek) to do my writing. Rip Torn's performance as Marsh Turner is just stellar--one of ...

Everyone LOVED it!!!
This movie was better than Sky High, which was a rip off from Harry Potter. But back on track. Everyone in my family loved this film, it was exciting, and edge of your seat fun. Tim Allen is so funny in ZOOM. Michael Cassidy is superb, and the rest of the cast is amazing. I could watch this movie over and over again. Sky High, bored me in the first five minutes. Zoom is way better!!!
