Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years 29 reviews Scott Bairstow; Eric McCormack; Kelly Rowan; Bret Hart; Tracy Scoggins; Paul Le Mat; Paul Johansson
Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, 2004
Excellent entertainment for the buck. OK, I'm addicted to this series. I love westerns and this gave me my fix! If you loved the original Lonesome Dove, this is the life of Woodrow Call's son, "Newt". I just want to know if there are any more of the series because I'm hanging out wanting to know what happens next with Newt and Mattie.

Return to Lonesome Dove 54 reviews Jon Voight, Barbara Hershey
Lions Gate, 2003
Excellent Western Movie! I thought that after Lonesome Dove, no movie would get my attention especially if the original actors weren't in the sequel. After the first 5 minutes into watching Return To Lonesome Dove, I was riveted into the story, the characters, and the constant moving of the film. I rate this move 5 stars. All the actors did a wonderful job of telling another story from Larry McMurtry's moving saga of ...

Lonesome Dove 12 reviews Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones
Rhi Entertainment, 2008
Bud Wright I believe I have some insight into this whole aspect ratio controversy. For many years, filmmakers filmed movies in something called "Super 35." The final, unedited and uncropped raw footage looks something like the old Chevrolet symbol, in that each scene was framed in both widescreen AND fullscreen ratios. The widescreen crop, of course, was released to theaters, but the fullscreen crop was ...

Lonesome Dove [Blu-ray] 5 reviews Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones
Genius Products (TVN), 2008
You've Never Seen Lonesome Dove Like This! I pre-ordered this Blu-ray disc when I saw that it was going to be available. I was sceptical as to how much better it would actually be than the DVD version that I already owned. Let me tell you, it is COMPLETELY different. Seriously, the clarity, film quality and Dolby 5.1 surround make this Blu-ray a MUST HAVE for any fan of this Western epic! It is in widescreen for the first time, and ...

Lonesome Dove: The Series, Vol. 5 1 review Lonesome Dove
Platinum Disc, 2005
eaglewing Lonesome Dove the series was one of the best westerns that I have ever watched. It was a little confusing in relating this series to the other parts of the story because in the other parts (Lonesome Dove the movie and Commanche Moon) The characters are played by different persons. All in All, I highly recommend "the series" and found it necessary to buy all of the entire set.

The untamed glory of the Old West as it really was returns when Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years saddles up for another season of high-spirited episodes, with a new look and an exciting cast of characters struggling to survive on the wild frontier. The year is 1880, Curtis Wells, the locale of Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years, is now a boomtown on the Montana frontier. When neighboring Sweetwater was left in ashes by a prairie fire, its whores ...

Lonesome Dove: The Series - Features 1, 2, &3 1 review Eric McCormack, Christianne Hirt
Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, 2007
Answers some questions For those of you who loved the entire production of Lonesome Dove, this series answers the question from the "REturn to Lonesome Dove", Where does Newt go? We loved the series so far and I think it's pretty good. It's money well spent. It is not the re watchable effect the others have, but after all it is a series. It appears to be sensitive to some issues like modern mixed race couples, which ...

Larry McMurtry's Streets of Laredo 51 reviews James Garner, Sissy Spacek
Hallmark, 2001
Bleak but brilliant revisionist Western A long way from the Hollywoodised version of a Lonesome Dove sequel seen in `Return from Lonesome Dove', this is Larry McMurty's riposte to the way the Studio handled that sequel. Where `Return..' dealt with the cattle barons and themes of redemption and wholesome endings, this is a stark and realistic portrayal of the West. Here, the violent men of the burgeoning West are a dying breed (no pun ...
