Dance of Shiva with Andrey Lappa 2 reviews
Pranamaya, Inc., 2005
Explore the dance of creation and Yoga Andrey Lappa is not a household name is the west, and it is likely that he will never become one. The more's the pity for us here in the States. Lappa's approach to Yoga is unique in its systematic and logical presentation of the topic. However, he never comes across as dry or coldly rational. Lappa is a deeply passionate and knowledgeable practitioner of the Yoga he professes.

Solar Flow Yoga 5 reviews Shiva Rea
Gemini Sun Records, 2005
Fantastic in its own right... This is a FANTASTIC DVD. Shiva is an amazing teacher who mixes just the right amount of instruction and great music. And while I agree that this material is included in the Yoga Shakti DVD which I also have an use daily; it is a beautiful practice in its own right. It should be noted that not every retailer is a fair with its pricing as Amazon and I have seen Yoga Shakti for $29.99 with this DVD ...

Army of Darkness 578 reviews Ian Abercrombie, Deke Anderson
Universal Studios, 1998
Good, Bad...I'm the guy with the gun! Yes the format is dead...BUT if you own an HD DVD player (buy it on close out) why not get the supporting HD movie software dirt cheap. Yes these titles will be re-released on Blu-ray but why pay twice the price for the same HD quality picture...plus the HD DVD player is an excellent standard DVD upconverter...much better than the $79 DVD upscalers that are on the market today.

Yoga Journal: Great Instructors 2 reviews Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea
Bayview Films, 2007
Excellent set provides 3 different yoga practices with master instructors This Yoga Journal Great Instructors series box set presents three DVDs offering three different 90-minute yoga workshops which were filmed at the Yoga Journal annual conference in San Francisco. Each of these practices is taught by a master yoga instructor, and although they all teach some form of vinyasa yoga, the three practices are actually quite different from one another.

Live From Shiva's Dance Floor 2 reviews Timothy 'Speed' Levitch
Aspyr Media Inc, 2003
A surprise. Speed is something to watch. If September 11th changed your life in some way (which I'm sure is true for everyone) you need to see this short and refreshing gem. Linklater and Levitch give a unique perspective on how we are to see tragedy and what can be done with the "sacred ground" of the WTC. Whether you agree or disagree with the ideas, it will for sure get people talking.

This Is What Democracy Looks Like 6 reviews Noam Chomsky, Michael Franti
Blank Stare, 2005
Documentary at its Best This was a great film on the events that led to the protests at the WTO. I thought it did a great job of demonstrating the fragile nature of our presumed right to free speech and freedom of assembly. Great for classroom use!!!

Shiva Rea: Lunar Flow Yoga 6 reviews Shiva Rea
Gemini Sun Records, 2005
A Piece of Shakti Because I was so happy with Yoga Shakti, I bought the Lunar Flow & Trance Dance DVDs. So far, the Lunar Flow is taken directly from the more expansive Shakti DVD (same exact video footage). The Lunar Flow is great for folks just getting interested in Shiva Rea, but if you want the best bang for your buck, get the Shakti DVD. Both offer the yoga matrix (best thing I've ever seen for keeping a ...

Shiva Rea - Radiant Heart 10 reviews Shiva Rea
Acacia, 2007
Delightful - hope Shiva gives us more brief, chakra oriented practices like this! My only mistake was holding off buying this DVD until 2008 and missing out on an exquisite little gem. It's a perfect early morning practice, with gentle music and a Prayer Wheel warmup as the sun rises behind clouds ... a brief period of arm circles and Ohm chants, a heart chakra "massage," then the Prayer Wheel which consists of gently rocking forward and back in a staggered stance, while ...

Shiva Rea - Yoga Shakti 228 reviews Marc Caro, Jean-Michel Jarre
Gemini Sun Records, 2004
Complete Yoga DVD This DVD is perfect for the long-time yoga practitioner who knows his/her limits and is looking to push them. The matrix also can help extend the use-life of the DVD, but after owning the DVD for a month and using the DVD 8 times, I can confidently say I'm still another 10-15 times away from using the matrix as Shiva's pre-set routines are nicely ordered. The one downside to the DVD is the ...

Shiva Rea - Flow Yoga for Beginners (Amazon Exclusive) 46 reviews Shiva Rea
Acacia, 2008
Did I Luck into This! What a Great Way to Relax and Workout! This great DVD, which sensibly starts off with a warning to consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program, is filmed simply beautifully and is inspiring in that way to begin with. The backgrounds are so relaxing. The teacher, Shiva Rea, is calming and also very intelligent and has a great ability to explain what we are doing succinctly as she guides us further and further into ...

Shiva Rea - Creative Core Abs 49 reviews Shiva Rea
Acacia, 2006
Interesting, kinda yoga, kinda dance-like, builds a nice core warmth I ordered Shiva Rea Creative Core Abs DVD from the library interloan system and it came in today! Yay! So here is the review.
Takes place in White Sands National Monument with a drummer on a rock and cool music. There is also a 'just music' option that is nice for just moving to or doing one's own yoga moves.
There are three workouts that can be done on their own or all rolled together. ...

Yoga Journal: Shiva Rea - Free Flow Vinyasa 5 reviews Shiva Rea
Bayview Films, 2007
A very non-traditional take on vinyasa flow yoga "Free Flow Yoga" is part of Yoga Journal's Great Instructors series, a series of DVDs filmed at the annual Yoga Journal Conference in San Francisco. It features Shiva Rea, a internationally known yoga instructor who incorporates more creative, dynamic movement into her vinyasa flow practice. Here she presents a 90-minute class which is quite non-traditional in nature; there are certainly some ...
