Just what I was looking for
Just what I was looking for, a small compact radio to take along camping and leave laying around in case of emergency. The weather bands will be usefull in both cases.

I have an older, larger ETON radio. I was pleasantly suprised by this new, compact model. Yes, the tuning dial is compressed, but I was able to tune in the local PBS station after a bit of fiddling. Functionality--excellent radio reception (and that's the reason you purchase a radio for, right?) Much better than Eton's analog tuner models--don't even bother with those if you plan on listening to the radio in anything other than ideal reception locations. OK for emergencies
It does what it needs to but the battery life seems too short after hand cranking up the charge, I guess the LCD display really takes more energy than the non-LCD models. Overall it will serve its purpose OK but for longer solar or hand cranked use I would recommend the non-LCD models.
