No need for a second pair of hands!
This product makes it really easy to take your measurements alone. It has a button that you press once you have wrapped the tape around the body part to tighten the tape up, so that you get the most accurate measurement. If it's awkward to read the measurements, you can simply unhook the one end and the tape stays put at your measurement so that you can read it w/ease.

I just got this thing and I'm happy with it in general, but there is a reference to an "IMPROVE YOUR MEASURING SKILLS" guide that is not included. It is impossible to get reliable results with this tool without a diagram of where to get the measurements. Just saying chest, abdomen, thigh is ridiculously unclear.

Having read the other reviews, I personally am very happy with my purchase.
I have had no problem with the measurments being off. I also used an online calculation system and used other pinch points. However, I ended up with the same ending body fat calcuation I got with the one point the package insert gives direction on.
