This book was and is STILL great

Alright, I have been reading some of these reveiws and while most are favorable, some are just retarted! That one that wrote about how she's 13 and her friends "smoke, drink and have sex" and that these books are trash,well thats just wrong. I'm 15, and where i don't read these books very often, i was bored the other day and picked this one up. It was fantastic! Some of my friends smoke and drink but it was nice reading about people who didn't! Does everything have to be violent to be a good book?

Kristy mum needs a baby-sitter. Kristy is busy, Charlie is busy, Sam is busy...the baby-sitters are busy. This means that Kristy is working up an idea...YES! Why not make a central number that all parents around Stoneybrook can call, then they're bound to find a sitter! This idea is the best ever. Even though this is the first "Baby-Sitters Club" book Ann M. Martin has ever written, it is one of the best! And if you're interested in baby-sitting, then you have to read it!

Good foundation for the BSC

I first read this in 1988 when I was 12 and liked it, although it wasn't particularly my fave BSC book it was good. It was right before I started Junior High and at first I was nervous about the thought of it, until I got into the BSC series and then I thought jr high might be lots of fun: I dreamed of wearing cool clothes like Claudia and Stacie and meeting guys, having dates, etc. (I admired Ann cause she was positive and didn't use foul language and was appropriate--Still do admire her! She is a lovely lady!) However, to make a long story short, I started jr high and wore wild clothes like Claudia and Stacey. Yes it was pretty fun, however, until kids started laughing at me! (In the book everyone admires the girls' insividuality but in jr high they rejected me for trying it!) Seemed like everyone loved Stacey and the gang. Well in jr high I was beaten up three times by a guy and a bunch of girls, and the principal was negligent, I had to go to court, which was a nightmare. I was stalked and harassed all my jr high years. I could not figure out why I had so much trouble! After all, Claud, Kristy, Stacy and Mary ANne had a blast. It wasn't fair!

WONDERFUL , REALISTIC AND GOOD

WOW ! this book is wonderful ! Miss Martin is really tryinghere these books are wonderful IF YOU SAID THAT IS BOOK IS TRASH YOUGOTTA BE KIDDING !!!!! this book is wonderful and teaches you a good lesson so read on !
