An absolutly enchanting and wonderful book

This book is one of the best books I have ever read. If you have an imagination, it will completely pull you out from wherever you are and put you in Whangdoodleland. You feel like you know the professer and the kids like old friends. This book is for all ages and I think everyone will love it.

Whangdoodles Rock!

In the book The Last of the Very Great Whangdoodles, you start reading and can't stop!! When I began reading the book I fell in love with the creative, flowing writing. I became part of the book; I imagined I was there with the characters trying to make it to the Whangdoodle. I felt their feelings and encountered their challenges. Anyone who reads this book can never put it down. The book is a perfect five star, no less.

Fantasy Land

I Thought The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles deserved four out of five stars. Over all it was a good, also a quick read. I like how Julie Andrew Edwards explains each character into the littlest detail! This authur made me think that I was in the fantasy land. This imaginary place called Whangdoodle Land could only be reached by your imagination! there where four main characters, 3 children and 1 professer. The youngest child was lindy, she was the easyest to belive that there was a place called Whangdoodle Land and also a Whangdoodle! Tom was middle child and was confused at first but in the end belived with no truoble. Finally, Paul he had the most trouble of the three, but had to come along and watch Lindy. The Proffesser was the first man to go to Whangdoodle Land in about 100 human years.
For a couple weeks they had been training to travel to this place. when they finally they travel there they want to, first, visit the last of the really great Whangdoodles. There is a evil prime minister called the prock, he dosn't want anyone. The professer and the three childern have to conquer opsiticals like the deadly "Splinter Cat." This moster has a nag for kidnapping little children!!!

What the Arts can do for Children

What a great book! I read this book to my 8 year old daughter. She was on the edge of her seat each night and did not what me to stop reading! She continues to act out parts of the book and quote it. As a parent the book showed me just how important encouranging the imagination is. The doors it can open. It was such a metaphor for life as well. Ms. Andrews Edwards has such a wide range of talents and an intellect that is extraordinary! Keeping the Arts in our children's lives is so vitale to their development. Ms. Andrews Edwards can show us in her writing, singing, acting and living. Give us more!

For Young Readers with an Imagination

The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles is an excellent book for those who need a plot with depth and energy. The characters are well developed, the dialog natural, and the message uplifting. Great for a read aloud for younger children or a silent read for 3-4th graders.
