Cool Book
This
book
is about
Harry's third
year in Hogwarts. The book is a continuation of the chamber of secrets. Others who read magical and fantasy, books will enjoy the series from the writer, J.K. Raweling. I would recommend this book to others who like fantasy, magic and advanture.
SIX stars for J.K. Rowling
My review for this
book
is very simple. SIX stars for
Harry
Potter
and her writer.
P.S. For me the heroine is still Hermione. I'll check in the forwarding books.

A Triumph of Storytelling
What can I add to the twenty-five hundred others who have reviewed this
book
, the best in the series to date? Say what you will about that first classic
Potter tale
, this is the one that simulatenously exploded
Harry Potter
into the collective adult consciousness and led to all the midnight parties and other related mania and hooplah. For good reason, too--Harry Potter and the
Prisoner
of
Azkaban combined
everything that worked in the first two tales (that is, imagination and wonder from the first, suspense and story-twists from the second) to render a story mix so rich, you could cut a cake from it.
Let me say this--I'm a writer, highly confident in myself and my stuff, and yet, when reading this, I found myself asking a question I rarely ask of any writer: J.K., how do you think this stuff up? I was, needless to say, both deeply impressed and highly ashamed of myself.
Here's the nuts and bolts for those of you who are unfamaliar (and I know where you live, all twenty-six of you misbegotten heathens): the wizarding prison of Azkaban has just suffered its first jailbreak. Notorious mass-murdering Sirius Black (perhaps the best-named villain in pop culture since Darth Vader) is out, and he's gonna get Harry if it's the last thing he does. But, really, it's not that simple. There's a magic map, giant apparitions of misery personified, the healing power of chocolate, and a stitch in time woven into this tapestry of storytelling. So, hold onto your rat, Ron. Check your watch, Hermione. Harry's going Stag to this party, and the butterbeer's on me ...

One of the best in the HP series!
HP & the
Prisoner
of
Azkaban ranks
as one of my favorites in the HP series. It is certainly very well-written, its narrative structure is plotted so well that the story moves seamlessly from one point to the next, and the thrills and chills are plenty.
In this third instalment,
Harry finds
himself facing many challenges, and death/destruction looms menacingly at every turn. Harry finds out that Sirius Black, a notorious mass murderer has escaped from Azkaban, and is making his way to Harry. Thus Hogwarts is placed under high alert, and the dreadful Dementors are placed as guards outside of Hogwarts, to Dumbledore's and Harry's consternation [Harry seems to have a very bad reaction to them for some reason].
Anyway, we have a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher here [once again!] in the form of Professor Remus Lupin[interesting choice of name], who seems to be an ally to Harry, and helps him conjure up a spell to deflect the Dementors, but at the same time seems to harbor some strange secret of his own. Then there's Sirius Black himself - is he really an evil person in the service of You-Know-Who, or is he just another victim?
Jk Rowling does a great job of answering all our questions, and there are plenty of thrilling plot twists to keep readers and fans alike happy. The village of Hogsmeade, the Marauder's Map, thrilling Quiddith matches, creatures such as boggarts, grim and dementors, there are lots of new 'characters'[Prongs, Moony, Padfoot & Wormtail] and many old familiars to keep readers entertained.
For those who are new to the series, I would suggest reading
Book
s One and Two first as a sort of background introduction to the series [naturally], but this is definitely much better-plotted and well-written than the earlier ones, and we see Harry maturing well into a young wizard, & together with his two most loyal friends, Ron & Hermione, they embark on another great adventure. A treat indeed!

Inflatable Aunts and werewolves
When
Harry "accidentally
" blows up his Aunt (his Uncle Vernon's sister), he panics and goes on the run - afraid he will be punished for using magic in the Muggle world. He catches a ride on the Knight Bus (pretty much by accident) and gets a room in Diagon Alley in the Leakey Cauldron. There he discovers that not only will he not be punished, but that he also will be treated with a lot of kid gloves again this year because Sirius Black - the notorious Death Eater - has escaped
Azkaban prison
. Over the course of the year, during which Harry takes private lessons from Professor Lupin - Defense Against the Dark Arts - he learns that Sirius Black is blamed for the death of his parents.
Of course, Sirius was also Harry's god-father and one of Harry's father's best friends.
Again, nothing is as it seems and we discover that even Ron's familiar is not what it seems.
A great continuation of the story with a lot of action and some truly scary moments. The
books become
scarier and darker as the series continues. This one has some moments that are almost night-mare inducing. You might want to read it yourself before letting a child younger than 12 read it. But it's a lot of fun, at the same time. A don't miss book!
