amazing

I picked up this book because of the title and picture on the cover, I so enjoyed it! I gave it as an end of year gift to a couple of my son's teachers. Waht a great story of women and friendship and letting yourself dream and having the courage to go for your dreams.

An unusual and delightful idea for a funeral....

A celebration of life...

This was passed to me by a member of our readers group. It is a unique and unusual read. The idea, to plan a funeral of this type, bringing your friends together to scatter your ashes in places that meant something to you, is appealing to me as I hate traditional funerals and found the premise refreshing. The writing was witty and entertaining from the onset. I do however, agree with one reviewer that this could have been cut by about 100 pages and had a better impact on the reader. By the time you get to the end you are ready for this trip of scattering ashes to be over.

Although it was heartening and uplifting to read these words of love, memories and praise for the deceased, it did get repetitive, especially in the last half. A lack of "new discoveries" about the deceased disappointed this reader. There was one part of her life, WHY/HOW she fathered her children that surprised and did bring interest to the story of her life. I also liked the part when they were stuck at the airport and all the other passengers got involved in why they were doing this trip.

It is never explained however, why the deceased is constantly referred to in her formal name of Annie G. Freeman, as she was definitely not a "formal" type person. All in all, not a bad read, but I had to do some skimming through it in the last half.

A Wonderful Tale

What a great story of friendship, love and loss. The message is clear that you need to have FUN in this life as you only go around once. I didn't care for the reference towards the end of the Authors political views but overall a GREAT read.

I wish my daughter could have been celebrated like this

This is a wonderful book about amazing friends and honoring a life lived. Well written, thoughtful, and a good read. The book certainly makes me consider how to do things more fully from the heart.
