age level
You know, on Amazon this books is listed for being for reading levels 4-8, So I bought it for my nephew thinking that it would be very silly and he would think it was funny, but the book lists itself as being for readers aged 7-9. It is more serious than I expected, and the pictures are not as colorful as one expect a children's book to be. Still, very good, I will give it to my older niece instead.
Long time absolute favorite and a true gem on imagination and execution!
I've been working with this book (with children) for many years and have just bought my fifth copy (as they seem to 'disappear' whenever I loan them to children to take home--I suspect they love them too much to part with them for good!). The idea of reality being what we're used to it being (not rather what it HAS to be everywhere), as well as the hilarity of the situation the people of the story are faced with is just delightful. It is an excellent resource of rich vocabulary and expression, and the drawings are believable and at the same time jaw dropping. Highly recommended to all ages, especially preschool through the lower grades.

Review of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
My 4 year old son really enjoyed this book. He requested this book along with others for 10 straight days. I thought the title was catchy and the story line pleasantly different. The story starts out fine but then it goes over the top and approaches being simply gross. As I stated in the beginning, my son enjoyed it. It made me uncomfortable.
imagination running wild
I remember being a kid and flipping through the pages of this book over and over imagining what it would be like to live in a world that rains jelly donuts. I read the book a few months ago and it was still as fun as 20 years ago. Kids these days need to use their imaginations through reading more than they do through mind warping video games. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to enjoy a fun imaginative book.

spans the years!
We've had this book since my oldest was 2 and am now buying it for my youngest's classroom. This book has been part of many conversations in our home. We spoke of financial classes, my children's eating habits and the weather, of course! We've been known to quote it on occasion! This book also helps remind adults to use their imaginations!
