Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

I liked the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. The author of the book is Robert O' Brian. First, I liked the book because of the characters. They were brave. For example, Mrs. Frisby risks her life to save her son and her family from the plow. Also, the characters are smart. Such as the rats can read and use electricity. Second, I liked the book because of the theme that people should take care of you whatever reason. For example Mrs. Frisby goes to see the owl to help Timothy.
Also, because of friendship, and how even your enemies can be your friends. For example, Mrs. Frisby helps the crow and they become friends. Thirdly, I liked the book because of the writing. For example, the writing had a lot of family care ness. For example, Mrs. Frisby goes out after dark to get medicine for Timothy. Also, it had a lot of emotional writing in the book. For example, Justin, a rat of Nimh, dies and it is sad.

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh/
Book review

The story Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh was written by Robert C. O'Brien. This story is about a mother mouse named Mrs. Frisby. When her son Timothy gets sick with a big fever she has to face different problems to get the rats to help her move her house, so that she doesn't have to get Timothy out of bed and make him move to their summer home. Just to take the risk of him dying. I think this is an excellent story because it has so much action and so many animals.

This story takes place at a farmhouse around springtime. The protagonist is Mrs. Frisby. Her connection to the setting is that Mrs. Frisby lives by the farmhouse. She was the wife of Jonathan who was a mouse that went to Nimh. The introduction to the plot was that Mrs. Frisby's son Timothy got sick right before moving day. Also, food for Mrs. Frisby's family is scarce. A cat named Dragon is going to come out when Mrs. Frisby needs to go to Mr. Ages's house to get medicine for Timothy, while she is out she meets a silly crow named Jeremy who is stuck in something shiny. Jeremy tells her about the rats of Nimh and the owl. But the owl doesn't want to talk to her because the owl doesn't know who she is. Once Mrs. Frisby tells the owl the owl listens to her. Other Important characters in the book were Jonathan, Mr. Fitzgibbon, Justin, Nicodemus and Jeremy. The theme was that you need to have courage, trust and education for just about everything.

One thing that stood out to me was the theme because you need to have education for everything. For example, Justin wouldn't be able to get out of his cage if he didn't have education.

Another thing that stood out to me was the mood because it was a half funny half-adventure type book. For example, the rats have to explore through the air ducts.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone because it's an amazing book with so much action and also I loved it.

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH was written by Robert C. O'Brein. It's about Mrs. Frisby, a widowed mouse mother, who's son Timothy fell sick with pneumonia, just before moving day, and then she goes to the Rats for help, where she uncovers a great secret! I think this is an excellent book because is a fun adventure that I won't forget.

The story takes place in Mr. Fitzgibbons farm, at about present time. Mrs. Frisby and her three mouse children live there. She is brave, loyal, clever and will do any thing to save her family.
The first complication that she runs into is that she NEEDS to face the owl for advice of how to save Timothy and, as we all know, owls eat mice, so, obviously Mrs. Frisby is petrified. Second, owl is kind and listens to her, but then he sends her to the rats! Third, she meets Nicodemus and Justin, two kind and helpful rats that are willing to move her house. However, there is one big problem. Dragon, the vicious and murderous farmers cat. If they move Mrs. Frisbys house without doing anything about Dragon, he's would eat them in the process. There is only one thing that can stop Dragon doing that, sleeping powder that a mouse could slip into his bowl. Fourth, Mr. Ages (an elderly, and the only, mouse in the rat team) broke his leg doing it and can't do it again. Mrs. Frisby feels she must, so she volunteers to. The fifth complication is that Mrs. Frisby gets caught by Mr. Fitzgibbon's son.
I think theme of the story is: trusting those who are different can lead to good things.

One thing that stood out to me was the characters. It stood out to me because each character has a different, special, personality. Also, each character is a different animal. Another thing that stood out to me was the way the story was written. I liked it because the author wrote things out of the animal's perspective and it seems so real that it makes you think it's really how animal would solve problems.

I would recommend this book to everyone because it is an interesting fun story. It is an exiting adventure with characters that I am sure people will like.

Book Review
By: Natasha

This story is called Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIHM. It is written by Robert C. O'Brien. This book is about a mouse named Mrs. Frisby. She has to take many steps to help her son Timothy who is sick. I think this book is amazing because it tells of adventure, courage and trust.
The introduction tells Mrs. Frisby's son Timothy is sick and that moving day is coming soon. Here are a few major complications that arise in the book. Firstly, Mrs. Frisby has to see Mr. Ages, who is far away and night is closing in. Second, Mrs. Frisby has to see the owl for advice. Third, the rat named Brutus won't let Mrs. Frisby into the rat hole. Also, they know that someone is coming to exterminate the rats. Mrs. Frisby is the main character in this story. She cares about others before herself. Mrs. Frisby also can be fearless and anxious. Some of the other important characters in the book are, Nicodemus, Mr. Ages, and Justin. The setting is in Mr. Fitzgibbon's farmyard. The theme of this story is `Trusting those that are different from you can benefit.'
One thing that really stands out about this book is how it reminds me of my life. Once I got sick and my mom had to get me medicine when it was dark because it was raining. In the book Mrs. Frisby has to get Timothy medicine when it was dark out.
Another thing that really stands out about the book is how much it reminds of another book. I've read a book called Martin's Mice and it had a really nasty cat on a farm. Mrs. Frisby is set on a farm and there is mean cat named Dragon.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure story because it has a lot of excitement. It also makes me want to keep reading until I am done. I hope you read it because you sure will enjoy it!

The book Mrs.Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is written by Robert C. O'Brien. This story is about how the rats of NIMH and Mrs.Frisby cooperate together. I think this is a very interesting book and very different than other books because it has an interesting theme.
This book takes place at the end of winter on the Fitzgibbon's farm. Mrs.Frisby and her family live there. Mrs.Frisby is a very brave mouse that risks her life to try to save her son, Timothy. The book starts when Timothy becomes very sick. Because of this, Mrs.Frisby goes to get medicine. On the way back, she unties a bird's foot and he repays her by taking her to the owl. This leads to meeting the rats; they tell her what they want to achieve and about the Plan. One rat, Nicodemus, is also an important character that helps Mrs.Frisby. He tells her about that in order for the Plan to work, she has to put the powder in Dragon's (a cat) bowl. Dragon is also an important character, but almost everyone hates him. This is very risky and takes a lot of courage. While poisoning Dragon, she finds out that the Exterminators are coming. This book shows that courage will help you reach your goals.
One thing that stood out to me is the theme. Mrs.Frisby had a lot of courage and finally achieved her goal. She was nervous, but she still agreed to put the powder in Dragon's bowl.
Another thing that stood out to me were the characters. In this story, most of the characters were animals. The rats even had technology, electricity, and they even read books!
I would recommend this story to everyone. It was an interesting book and you never want to put this book down! At the end it leaves you cliff-hanging and wanting to read more, but I still recommend this book!
