Completly Facinatinating!!
As a first time Ann Rule reader I found this book completely facinating. I remember reading about these bank robberies in the Seattle newpapers. I always wondered what really happened prior to that fateful Thanksgiving Day in 1996. After reading this book I now know how some peoples lives changed dramatically. I found this a book that left you wanting to know more and more about the characters and events with each turn of the page! If you have never read a book by Ann Rule THIS MUST BE YOUR FIRST CHOICE!!!
This guy is not so special...he was lucky!
I absolutely love everything Ann Rule writes but this one's a dud...Scott Scurlock is no one special, his
crime
s at best mediocre and unthrilling. He is a humanistic type of guy that appears to
truely care
about his victims (most often more than his fri
end
s)...but he doesn't warrent a book about him. I believe Ann Rule is riding on here laurels on this one. Way too much written about his past boring life, sure he had some fun, smoked some dope, and lived in a great treehouse, but nothing more. HOWEVER, I will continue to read her future books...hoping she runs into an interesting criminal next time.

A bit disappointing
Ann Rule is my favorite author, but I was greatly disappointed in this book. I enjoy reading about the intricacies of how a
crime
is solved - the forensic science, the finding and deciphering of clues. These criminals leave no clues, and
end
up being apprehended nearly by random luck. This book focuses on bank robbery. I found it hard to care as much about the loss of replaceable material things from a corporation as I have cared about the victims in
other
Ann Rule books about personally devastating crimes against an individual, such as rape or murder. However, despite the uninteresting topic, the writing is excellent, and you do learn about the way the characters think. The short crime stories were far more interesting than the book. "The Girl Who Fell in Love..." story is one that I would have liked to know more about. Not a bad book overall, but not in this author's usual league.
