Amazing Gracie

I was genuinely touched by Gracie's story. I laughed at the clever humor in this book, cried at the sad stuff, and instantly fell in love with this amazing, sweet creature. Whether you own a dog, are looking to own one, or just want a feel-good story with pets who have personalities and owners who are downright human like the rest of us, this is a sure thing! It's wonderful!

Not Just For Dog Lovers!

Although this is truly a dog lover's book, it is not just for dog lovers. It is a very human story about relationships and love, and it is also a very canine story about the same two things! The story of Amazing Gracie, the wonderful albino Great Dane is written in a manner which should appeal to the widest possible audience. In fact, the writing is not as pedestrian as one might think; indeed, it is quite sophisticated. At all times the book refrains from any sort of gushy, me-and-my-dog sentimentality, focusing instead on the joys and sorrows of having a pet. I currently own a Boxer, a breed which also features albinos. Boxers are notorious for sensitive stomachs and finicky eating habits, so I can relate to the desperation of the authors, a desperation which led them to bake their own doggie snacks, and from there to a chain of bakeries for dogs. My solution was much simpler: give my Boxer people food! For the sensitive reader with finicky tastes, this is the perfect book. If you've ever loved or been loved, read this book. If you know what it's like to come from work after a rotten day to find your dog staring at you with a toy in its mouth and wagging its tail, buy this book on your lunch hour, take the afternoon off, and don't stop reading until you've finished the book.

A heartwarming and heartbreaking story

"Amazing Gracie" is one of the most wonderful stories I have ever had the pleasure to read. Anyone who is a dog lover can relate to the laughter and tears our 4-legged friends can bring us, and the authors of this book do a fantastic job of bringing their own experiences to life. It is inspiring to see how one dog could shape the lives and business of her owners. This book will keep you smiling until its last page, when you will find yourself brushing the tears off your cheeks.

If you love dogs,this is a great book

I just finished an amazing story about A white,albano dog named Gracie. Even though Gracie is deaf she still is an amazing animal. After being saved by a lonely guy named dan, she inspires him to start a bakery named Three Dog Bakery.

I laughed a lot throughout this book! It was very ffunny but at the end of this book, it can be very sad especialy if you have been with a dying dog in his or her last days. I really enjoyedreading this book this book because I am a dog lover, and this book was realy touching. So if you really want a great book, I recommend Amazing Gracie.

Best Dog Book Ever!

I loved this book! It was funny, heart-warming, sad, and so real for me as I have a black lab that is 13 and going through what Gracie did. So for me it was very personal. This book is well written and so enjoyable for any fan of not just dogs but animals. And, the drawings are adorable. I truly loved this book more than any other I have read. I recommend it to anyone who melts at the sight of a dog!
