Lifesaver

This book was quite obviously written straight from the heart. It will speak to your heart as well with thought provoking ideas of how to once and for all discover why you have "body clutter" as it is called. This is the first step in eliminating it. I have begun to put into practice the loving and thoughtful guidelines in the book, and the change has been nothing short of remarkable. After all the money I have spent on this issue in my life, who knew that the answer would come in a single nine dollar purchase?

Helpful, Open, and Honest

As somebody who has struggled with weight my whole live I was really happy when I found the book Body Clutter: Love Your Body, Love Yourself. I've read plenty of weight loss books and this is the first one that really honestly discusses what it feels like to be overweight. These authors know what it's like and how challenging it can be to lose weight.

While the book Body Clutter: Love Your Body, Love Yourself isn't specifically written for people who ADD who are overweight, I think it's very ADD Friendly. Some of the strategies suggested in the book are to make small changes.

I highly recommend this book to any adult with ADD who struggles with losing weight.

GET IT!

This is a great book, I think it helps build a foundation for learning how to create a new healthy life style.

I was skeptical but no more!

First let me start by saying that although I've heard of Flylady by word of mouth, I have never given the Flylady site or any other books more than a cursory glance because of snap assumptions. I was skeptical because of some of the negative reviews stating that this book uses terms that don't seem to be directed at adults or are too cutesy (a peeve of mine), and also the reviews stating that there's no organization or point to this book.

This is NOT a diet book or a weight loss plan! If that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere! In my opinion that is the absolute best thing about this book. Many of us with long-lasting Body Clutter have often tried several well known diets and have read more than one book that DOES give step-by-step outlines. If you still have Body Clutter, there may be a reason why none of them have worked! No step-by-step diet book or plan will work unless you can stick to it and make it a lifestyle change. That is my situation exactly, and that is why this book is such a blessing.

Body Clutter is a very easy, conversational read. At the end of each chapter, it asks specific questions and asks you to journal your answers to get to the bottom of WHY you are holding yourself back! I have trouble with motivation and comfort eating and discipline when it comes to losing weight. This book is helping me to work through these issues. BabySteps are a way to make gradual changes in small ways and then build on them so you don't set yourself up for failure. I can't count the times I have started a plan only to quit or become overwhelmed too fast. Reading this book will help you learn to create your own plan based on what will really work for YOU.

Body Clutter has completely reversed my assumptions about the cartoonish pictures of Flylady and the sometimes gimmicky sounding words. Those are easily overlooked! If you have any emotional issues surrounding weight loss and you are holding yourself back from this book because of the assumptions I had, you owe it to yourself to give this book a chance. I will now be checking out the Flylady website and other books to declutter other areas of my life. Thank you, Flylady!

Very thought-provoking little book.

This is a very readable, thought-provoking book. It really makes you look at your emotional triggers for eating. If you're willing to do the interior work required to get to the bottom of your eating habits, you're halfway there. I highly recommend this book to all of us who use food, shopping, the internet, or some other "pacifier" to gloss over our emotional discomfort.
