Wonderful Story

I gave this book away to my sis and her husband and they told me they loved it. I will borrow it so that I can read it as well.

Thank you Jay Kopelman

Wow, what a story to leave in your mind and ponder the continuing outcomes of dogs or even other animals stuck in a war torn areas. Animals are strange that they can reduce even the toughest of our heros into speaking baby talk.

Time Baghdad 2005 - You are taking through the steps of Jay not wanting to love this dog into loving this dog but not wanting to. Jay Kopleman is a Marine, who runs across this tiny little puppy while on a mission. Something magical at this precise time happened which gives you Jay's secret mission - How to get a dog outta Baghdad and not loose your job!!

You can just feel the mental argument he is having with himself knowing the rules of having the animal but also knowing that there is an acception to every rule. You can hear him speak to people of rescuing this dog out of Iraq and the fear he feels about leaving him behind. He both loves and dislikes the position he is in but he gets through it.

For the animal lover, this is a great story of love and devotion. I tell a lot of people always that "I am trying to be the person that my dog thinks I am" I think Jay went with that as well and proved to this dog about giving back to those who love us unconditionally.

For the non animal lover give this book a shot, maybe you can understand why we feel the way we do about our 4 legged friends.

Very uplifting

This is a wonderful, uplifting story! My book also arrived quickly and was in excellent condition as promised!

From Baghdad

Anyone that is a dog lover can appreciate this book, whether you agree with the situation in Iraq or not. It made me want to go to Iraq and save all the other strays there in the middle of this turmoil; or be involved somehow with rescuing more of the "lost dogs" of Iraq.

What a great book!!

I bought this book right before Christmas and was able to read it on the plane from CT to NC. I did not want to put it down, it was such a great book to read and the detail and the emotions that were put into writing it. To read about Jay and the soldiers and all the others go through all they did in trying to get Lava to the US was just fantastic. and was so well written I finished the book in about a day. To have this type of ending in that part of the world is great. Lava probably does not know how much he probably helped the soldiers who were helping him.
