Good Book, Good Theory.

This book is very well thought out. Cornwell knows there is a lot of information, and she succeeds at making it palpable. There are great descriptions of the crimes and of the people involved. Some might say that it is repitious, but it's not. So many of the crimes are similar, being that they were all done by a serial killer.

I am a lover of pretty much all that is Jack the Ripper, and this book shows the murders from a new angle. This book is a ton of information, but it is amazingly detailed. I was never taught this stuff in school and it was never even mentioned. It is so undeniably interesting to know all this information.

I know a considerable amount is Cornwell connecting the dots for us, but make up your mind for yourself. Answer for yourself whether or not something is over the top, so to speak. It is a great, strange portrait of Walter Sickert. It is a book that one could see as the author trying to convince you that she is correct. I see it as book that knows we will never know the true Ripper and that this is a very likely suspect. In the end, the book is well thought out and endlessly interesting.
