It was a light, easy read for me...

I will admit that I figured out the ending before I was halfway through the book, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. But I did find the book a fast read and I really enjoyed it. This was my first book from Jennifer Weiner, and I just requested all of her other books from the library.

Wanted so much to like it...

and DID like it for 3/4 of the book. Then the plot ran all over the place with outrageous twits. It's as if Ms. Weiner didn't know how to end it, so she came up with a Lifetime-like conclusion that was not at all plausible. Her other books are better.

A bad ending can really put a damper on a good book

I was thrilled with this book from the beginning. I love Ms Weiner's writing style. As a stay-at-home Mother of three children under the age of five, and as a former career woman, I really identified with the main character's pursuit of excitement in her otherwise mundane life. This novel kept me intrigued and every time I had to put it down, I couldn't wait to pick it back up. I have to say though, that I was sadly disappointed in the ending. It seemed rushed and random...not something you want from a mystery you have been trying to solve. I would recommend this book anyway, just for the humor and moral fortitude (for the most part) of the Mommy character.

Not totally stellar but I got into it... It was a mindless read by the pool book that you could multi task while reading.
