Worth The Wait.....Maybe One,or Two More?????

I really enjoyed the book and Kimberla is one of my favorite authors and I will forever read her material. I was really surprised with the amount of story that it had on Charlotte's best friend,Janie,I was expecting more of the book to be about Curtis and Charlotte, but I did enjoy it and I would recommend this book to everyone that is familiar with the Rev. Curtis Black.

Rev. Curtis and Charlotte Black - OH Boy!!

This is the final installment of the Rev. Curtis Black Saga. In this book, we find his third wife Charlotte, desparately praying for Curtis to spend time home. Curtis has become an author and lecture motivational speaker, sort of say. Deep down Charlotte knows that Curtis is still up to his old tricks of sleeping around and she is out to prove it. Despite the many lies that she has and the ones she is still keeping from him. Roby also introduces us to Charlotte's friend Janine, a college professor with a low-down, sleeze, drug-dealing, unemployed boyfriend. (You get the picture)

Roby has written a book that is full of drama on every level - lies, drugs, adultry, mental illness, abuse and more lies. Eventhough the story was woven together perfectly, it still left me wondering why certain story lines were included. For instance, Larry, Curtis' play-brother, and Aaron calling from a mental hospital. Then it hit me - to show more lies. I was disappointed that there was not more of Curtis in the book with his antics that have become so infamous. All in all, this was the perfect way to end story with a wonderful host of characters.

Peace and Blessings!!!

Not What I had Expected

I have read and enjoyed all of Roby's books. Its entertaining to read all the trouble her characters get into. Curtis Black is a piece of work.

This book, however, is about his current wife, Charlotte and her friend Janine. Curtis is not a main feature at all. In fact he is gone so much traveling, he doesn't really seem to have a place in the story. While these two women get themselves into the typical amount of trouble you expect from these books, I found myself irritated with how weak and ignorant they were. Allowing a free loading man to live with you, take advantage of you, and then deal drugs in your own home is ridiculous. Janine was afraid of her boyfrend, and let him get away with everything. I had no respect for the character at all.

The part about Charlotte's daughter having problems seemed an odd fit for the story.

The book was ok, but not near as good as the others. I think its time for new characters.

Love it, Love it, Love it...

Oh my goodness! I absoulutely love this book! I had a chance to meet Kimberla at a book signing the weke the book came out, and she is wonderful. I starte teh book that same night and was finished the next day. It was a constant page turner. Trying to find out what Charolette was gettito nexting, finding out about Curtis family, and of course the oh so 'sweet' Marissia. Finding out if Curtis will still be Curtis. I was no disappointed by her book. It flowed as the ohther 3 did on Curtis. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but if you have never read any of her books, start with Casting the First Stone, and go in order. It is not neccessary but highly recommend. Happy reading!
