Daughter loves it.

Gave two of these to a 10yr old and a 9yr old. Both girls loved the book. It is being read daily. The only thing I've foung that I'm not pleased with is that it has a section on palm reading. If that doesn't bother you then you'll most likely be 100% happy. My daughter is mature enough that I can explain why we/I believe that a topic goes against our faith (in this case)views. She has deceided to not read those pages and to be on alert for any other material that may cause a conflict with the christian faith that we are raising her in. I would buy this again and love it when the girls tell me about a real live princess, or how to pitch a ball, what items they need to have in an emergency, amd sing silly little jump rope songs. All of the topics are broken down into informative and quick reads. Wish I had this growing up.

What is the big deal?

Wow! I didn't know this book was so controversial until I read some of the reviews. I agree that this in not for a 15 year old. It was the perfect gift for my 10 year old. I would recommend it for ages 7 to 12 or 13. I did not find it demeaning to girls. The section on princesses was about modern princesses that raise money for Sierra Leone, advocate animal rights, and hold degrees in computer science. There are many sections that have "non-traditional" information like basketball, pirates, math tricks, public speaking, and karate. I really doubt that reading the sections on palm reading and ghost stories will lead to joining a cult. Who among us did not play with a Ouija board or hold a seance at a sleepover? Remember light as a feather, stiff as a board? Anyway, I would much rather have my kid read this book than try to explain why Britney Spears stole a pregnant girl's baby daddy only to divorce him and now her 16 year old TV star sister is pregnant. I really found the book to be quite entertaining and a great time-killer in the car or at a restaurant. I have found myself skimming the book and getting drawn in as well.

Excellent Resource for Girls

My five granddaughters all loved this wonderful book. It has so much in it; endless reading, endless ideas.

Great Book

I purchased this book for my niece for Christmas. So far, she seems to love it. She has not hardly put it down. She keeps reading and looking for more stuff to get into. This book seems to have captured the interest of my young teen niece in a way that few others have.

Glancing through this book, there is a lot of great information for young ladies. It is fun and exciting and gets them to read... which is always good. I highly reccomend this book for young ladies everywhere.
