A wonderful rhyming story!

The melodic way this story reads draws you in! By looking at the pictures, a very young reader has enough clues to know what the words are on each page are. So, a non-reader can actually "read" this book!

Great Fun for Young Ones!

This book has lasting appeal for the toddler and preschool set. My one year old has liked it for a long time and my two year old still finds it fascinating, reading it aloud from her memory. This book is a great way to teach colors and animals. Adults will like that they can change their voices to mimic each animal that is speaking. Fun!

A Book That All Kids Love!

"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" is the title and the opening sentence of this excellent children's book by Bill Martin. My little one and her friends have been enjoying this book for a long time and it ranks among their most often requested books for reading.

The main reason infants and toddlers love this book so much is its pictures. The illustrations in this book feature bright, colorful drawings and as you turn the pages, there is a large animal covering both sides of the page drawn with multiple shades of the featured color. The animals featured (in order of appearance) are: Brown Bear, Red Bird, Yellow Duck, Blue Horse, Green Frog, Purple Cat, White Dog, Black Sheep, and Gold Fish. Some of the pictures might seem like they would be a little scary to a child, but kids don't seem to care.

Besides the visual aspects and helping kids learn about animals, this book also helps kids learn the names of different colors. Each color is repeated multiple times in the book's pages, helping kids learn what shade to associate with what color. Kids enjoy trying to pronounce the different animal words and colors. This makes the book educational and also fun. My little girl points at the pages and attempts to talk about what she sees and hears as the book is read to her.

This book can be read to any child from infant through toddler and beyond but unless you purchase the board book version, you need keep in mind that little kids will possibly tear the pages. My little girl is still challenged with the urge to tear so I have to be careful whenever she uses this book. She will give in to her instincts unless someone stops her.

Overall, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" is an excellent children's book. My daughter and her friends love this fun, colorful book and they demand that it be read to them several times each day. It is simple, direct, short, and colorful; in summary, exactly the type of book that little kids enjoy.

My son is 14 months and has loved this book since he was 10months. We had a hard-back book with this one and he kept accidently tearing the pages while we read it. So we ordered it in a boardbook and he takes it everywhere with him! HE ADORES THIS BOOK! So do we! I can't say enough postive things about this book! Its great! MY SON ALWAYS SAYS "BEAR, BEAR??" HE loves it great book!
