No parent should go without reading this!

I whole-heartdedly recommend this book to any parent who has young children or teenagers. I only wish I had had this book months ago, years ago. It has changed our household in a matter of just 2 days. It is truley remarkable. To be able to have some understanding of what a teenagers thinks and feels and to know that you really do have some control changes everything. Just "really" knowing that you not the only parent going though it, was a real wake up call. Don't pass up this chance to have some calm now or in the future when you have teenagers. Prepare now for the long road ahead, and make each of yours lives, you and your teenagers, much more pleasurable. I could never say enough about this book. It has changed my life and possibly my daughters. Thank you so much to my boss who recommed it and to Anthony Wolf for writing it.

This Author Must Live at My House!!

Being the parent of a 15 1/2 year old daughter and a 18 year old son, I feel like this book was written for me. This book offers very "real" situations without the "fluff" used by other writers. It has helped me a lot with my attitude towards dealing their attitudes and I don't take things as personally as I used to. I have used several of the author's suggestions and to my great suprise THEY WORKED!!! I love my kids dearly, but these teen years have to be the hardest years by far. This book offers good, firm, loving advice.

I highly recommend this for parents of teenagers

I had to smile when I read this book. I felt as if the author had been eavesdropping in my house and heard the shouting matches between me and my daughter. He helped me to understand what was really going on between us and that this is a normal stage of development. I feel that our communication has already improved somewhat. The author has an easy, humorous writing style that is not condescending or overly clinical.

Finally a useful book for REAL people

I was so happy to read this book it really helped my daughter and I get along so much better. This book is very up to date and is wrote in an intelligent way. It was nice to have a book that talked about young people and how they talk, dress, and act and actually make sense about why.I think this book really speaks to those who realize that there are all different kinds of kids and they look and act different but they will grow up to be great people even if it doesn't seem so at the time. If you are really frustrated with your teen person- get this book!

This book really hit home!

While no two teens are exactly alike, Dr. Wolf does a great job of capturing the experience of raising a teen. The teen-parent dialogs are right on target, and his suggestions for dealing with the day to day aggravations of living with "baby adults" are very practical and sound. This book confirmed much of what I had discovered by trial and error, and it was a relief to have the validation and reassurance of an expert.
