Predictable

This is the final book of the "Morrigan's Cross" series by Nora Roberts which centers around a circle of six fighting for all mankind on Samhein.

I read Morrigan's Cross and liked it, although I wasn't totally enthralled with it. The second book, Dance of the Gods, was better and had more humor in it but again, predictable. Third (this one) again, predictable and I knew the ending of it before I was finished with Morrigan's Cross save for some minor details. I liked the story, I especially Cian's story, the most but again, all predictable. This novel didn't dissapoint, it just didn't excite me either.

If you are looking for a light vampire/supernatural read that has a bit of romance, this series would be a good choice. However I would not reccomend this novel for people that light to get really involved with their characters or that like a lot of suspsense.

Keeping hope alive...

All I can say is, for the first time, I've found an author that has combined my favorite genres together! I adore the way she illustrates the story with such brilliancy. I'm keeping the hope alive that there will be more of the same to follow!

She's done it again!

First, I want to say that the ONLY books that I buy are written by Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb! I am so addicted to her books that I have a really hard time putting them down once I start reading. I just finished reading Valley of Silence. WOW! I loved it! I started with the very first one in the trilagy and flew through it. I couldn't wait until the second came out. Then time seemed to drag until I could get my hands on the last one so that I could find out what happened! I loved the story. I am not really into vampires and witches and things like that, but the way that Nora tells a story is so captivating and I will read anything that she writes. I have never been able to find an author that has such a wonderful way of telling a story that keeps me interested. I am always on the look out for a new book. I can't wait to get my hands on Angel's Fall. The excerpt at the end of Valley of Silence had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. Why was Reece the way that she was. WOW! Great job holding my interest once again. Ready for the next IN DEATH so that I can get my dose of Eve and Roarke.

Excellent Conclusion to the Triology

This book was by far an incredible ending to a very interesting and different Nora Roberts writing. I was really looking forward do the big battle between good vs. evil and "Valley of Silence" did not disappoint at all. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I did not know what would become of Cian and Moira. I was happy to read their love story and quite surprised at the ending. The battle was well played out and the evil characters of Lilith, Lora, Davey and Midir were written with as much characterization as the good guys. Glenna, Hoyt, Blair, Larken, Cian and Moira are amazing characters. Moira started out as a somewhat meek and mild member of the circle but by story's end, she is the most self-transformed constituent of the group. Without giving away the conclusion, all I can say is don't miss this story. It is amazing.

A B-Movie Matinee

The books in this trilogy are the equivilent of of an old fashiioned B-Movie or Saturday matinee--short, pertictiable, forgetable, and enjoyable. I'll keep the books and probably reread them at some time but this is hardly her best work. More likely these books were written quickly to fulfill a contractual obligation.
