This book is great I read it for an english project on censorship and found myself buying a copy, because I enjoyed it so much

Great girl book

A wonderful original fairy tale with a strong and smart heroine. Princess Elizabeth is a great example for little girls. Sometimes the prince is not worth having!

An awesome fairytale

Unlike most fairy tales, you will be in for a surprise with this book's ending. I have read this book to three year olds, ten year olds, and now I am going to have my High School Philosophy of Woman class read it in conjunction with a study on women in fairy tales! A fabulous reversal or an ordinary story line. This should be on every library's shelves!

A reverse of the "prince rescues the princess" theme with all the right messages: brains over brawn; "girl power"; appearances are a poor measure of a person's character.
