Finding Real Love

There is a noticeable pattern to Eric Jerome Dickey's books, but that's not all bad when he pens a memorable novel like Milk In My Coffee.

The characters are highly believeable and Dickey masterfully takes complex issues and fills in just enough material for the readers to explore their hearts & souls in the much too often tough dance of building a foundation to a successful relationship.

It is fitting that Kimberly Chavers is a painter. And as within all the complex lives in which we live, she is attempting to use unique paints on her life's canvas to eliminate the turbulent times and create a new piece of art that she can truly share with a real lover.

Jordan Greene is an engineer by profession and has his own complications with family members and a past relationship that continues to cry out for answers to elusive questions.

The lessons learned are painful as both main characters are pushed and tripped by those who have their own agendas to derail them. And in the closing pages that powerfully brings the book to its close, Chavers and Greene - along with the reader - appreciate how a relationship without trust is a relationship without love that will never survive the harsh words and rumors from those "friends" who have nothing but jealousy in their minds.

Really Good Book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed all the twists and surprises. It would have been better if Jordan had of been more aggressive and Kimberly less aggressive in the building of the relationship. (I like to see a guy really go after a girl - not the other way around.) But they did have a good relationship and that was good. Also, I didn't feel that Jordan should have been so jealous of his best friend and his ex-girlfriend - he had Kimberly - let others do what they want. But Jordan was a good and admirable person nonetheless. I liked Jordan and Kimberly. I liked the book.

ENJOYED IT

This is the first book by Eric Jerome Dickey that I read and I really enjoyed it. It's a story about an interracial relationship and true love. I really like this man's style of writing and I enjoyed the story.

One of my favorite writers... not one of my favorite books... :(

I was disppointed by this book by Eric Jerome Dickey. I love his work, normally! But the characters were kind of one dimensional for me in this one. I enjoyed the storyline, but I think he could have explored it more in depth. This will not stop me from reading his work, but I will have to give this book away... not a keeper for me, unfortunately!
