Reinventing Your Life -- A Useful Perspective

"Reinventing Your Life" provides a useful perspective from which to view one's personality and approach to life with an eye to better, more conscious life and relationships. The authors, experienced psychotherapists, base this book on long experience in helping people gain insight into fundamental approaches to the world that may have remained unexamined since early in life. With self-tests and clear, practical advice, the authors can assist readers to make changes that help them function better and more happily. Recommended to anyone seeking self-knowledge and greater satisfaction with life.

The Awakening

Reinventing Your Life is a powerful opening to taking a closer look at ones self and the conditions that we place ourselves into without a second thought. This book exposed the many negative thoughts that enter the mind and that we embrace without questioning the information or intention of the information. I'm proud to say that I no longer struggle with negative thoughts and/or behaviors after reading this book. Of course, something works only if you are willing to conscientously put the steps into action.

Love it! Great resource!

I LOVE this book because I keep returning to it and making so much use out of it when I work with some of my clients. A few of my clients have also commented on this book and how helpful it was in explaining some things that were happening in their lives and how they were responding to certain life events and people. If used properly a great resource for clinicians and patients. Supplements the other Jeffrey Young Schema Therapy text and very much designed for the lay person and client to use. It also provides good case studies and helpful strategies.

Quite good I must say

OK so the title reads 'Reinventing your life' which is perhaps a little far-fetched however this book is seriously helpful. I read it slowly and took my time doing the exercises it suggests. I particularly liked the one where you write letters to people who have harmed you even though you don't actually have to send them to them. It was liberating. I also like that the book explains how a lot of what is 'wrong' with you today is because of your unhappy or deprived childhood. Also this kind of therapy borrows from a lot of others and forms a more comprehensive, less one-sided, more believable approach. I recommend it!

Reinventing Your Life

I found this book very helpful. As a self help book it has helped me to find a lot of things about myself, which in turn has made me feel better about myself & more able to stand up for myself. Excellant (it was recomended to me by my Doctor)
