Great follow up to the first book. (The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty) Definately a page turner and keeps you interested from the first page to the last.

Letter to Seller of this book concerning wrong feedback...

I apologize to Seller tang_li_wheebs for the lack of feedback on the recent order I placed for my friends Cat & Dave for one of your Anne Rice books. Seller tang_li_wheebs is prompt in delivery and the book was in excellent condition. Cat says the book was an erotic great read by Anne Rice. I was very impressed with this Seller's business sense and had to find a way to repay tang_li_wheebs for my lack of understanding on seller feedback. So, here is what I want all you folks out there in Amazon-land to know about Seller tang_li_wheebs. Good, but the rest are better

Far too much male stuff in this one for me. The guys probably will like it, but then again, they probably would not understand the first book. Anne, I guess, wanted to give something for everone. Loved the first novel in the series and most women would.

Better Than The First

I really enjoyed this book...much more so than I did the first one. I think one reason I liked it better was because of the village setting. The village people seemed more "real," and while the punishments were still degrading and dehumanizing, at least they were somewhat functional...such as cleaning, harvesting, pulling carts, etc...rather than the senseless tasks the slaves were made to perform at the castle.

I found the scenes to be much more arousing in this one than in the first. And a lot of focus was given on the internal workings of Tristan and Beauty's minds, which was very interesting. The scenes involving Tristan and his Master Nicolas are not to be missed - both the sexual and non-sexual. They are excellent.

I only wished the ending had turned out differently. I was looking forward to more development of the relationship between Nicolas and Tristan, and more scenes invloving Beauty and the Captain and Mistress Lockley. It seems they had barely gotten settled in before they were whisked away. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the final installment of this series.
