The All-New Mallory Pike

I used to avidly read the BSC, but stopped a few years ago, after the plots got too simple and I 'grew out of them'. But The All-New Mallory Pike caught my eye one day when I realised, to my surprise, that I'm presently in the same boat as Mallory. I too am in the midst of changing schools, from my local public high school to a private one, although I'm not boarding. I found that Mal is feeling the same way I am, nervous, excited, nervous, sad, nervous and a little bit lonely.

Mallory hasn't been fitting in at school lately, and she's finally going to take some action, and has enrolled in an all-girls boarding school in Massachutes. New friends, new beginnings, and a place that offers a fresh start are awfully tantalising, and although she thinks she's made the right choice, her room-mate Alexis doesn't make it easy for her!

The All-New Mallory Pike really captures the uncertainty you feel when making an important decision in your life, and I would recommend it to BSC fans, especially those like me who've grown out of the series, but aren't totally ready to let go for good!

Boarding school.....here she comes!

This book is about a girl named Mallory who's going off to Boarding School. She meets two friends there. She also meets an older girl named Jen. Jen's very nice. But Mallory's roomate is not so nice. She took Mallory's earrings without asking and she ripped up the care package that Mallory's friends in the BSC (Baby-Sitters Club) sent her. Mallory then uncovers the past and finds out that because of her roomate's attitude, many kids left. Mallory dosen't want to leave, but she dosen't want her roomate around either!
I think her roomate deserves what happeneds at the end. Something that makes Mallory really happy. But that's all I'm saying. ;-)

A Sad Goodbye

At first I was putting off reading this, because Mallory is one of my favorite characters. But when I finally did read it, I realized that it was the Best choice for Mallory. Mallory is having a horrible time at school, being teased and made fun of. She finds a boarding school in Massachusetts and decides to leave StoneyBrook. She meets some new, good friends, Sara and Smita but she also meets an awful, rude roomate Alexis. Alexis trashes Mallory's things and invades her privacy. I'm glad that Alexis finally gets what she deserves at the end of the story. It was sad to see Mallory go and I hope, that in future books the BSC won't totally forget about her.

Really good book!

Mallory is having a horrible time at SMS,(not with the BSC), so she decides to go to boarding school. Before she leaves, she and Jessi both promise that they'll remain best friends. When she gets to Riverbend, she makes two new friends, but her roomate, Alexis, is horrible! For instance, like destroying a care paeckage that the BSC sent. P.S. The BSC and MAllory still keep in touch with Mallory often by E-mail. All in All , a good book.
