Don't judge a book by its cover

It's always been a sore point with me that this series had such garish neon covers just like a million other little thrillers, because the ordinary type of young adult horror is conventional and a dime a dozen, like R.L. Stine's thousands of identical stories. L.J. Smith is in a completely different league! The Forbidden Game is packed with jewels, from imagination-firing tales of ancient Nordic myths and runes to dramatic shows of sacrifice and unconditional love. This is not some generic cheap slasher mystery, it's a great fantasy that ought to be in every kid's collection.

Should i laugh or should i cry???

well id just like to say, I ABSOLUTLY FRIGGIN LOVED THIS BOOK, IT WAS GREAT FABULOUS AMAZING SPECTACULAR MASSIVE, AND ALL I CAN SAY IS OMG i really did love it, it was a book which played on your emotions, enough to make you doubt whether the pl;anned evil is really evil, lisa jane smith mixes love and evil into a confusing combination in this book which makes you feel sick with indecision...i loved it, although i did love all of her books, this isnt her best series, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN I DIDNT STILL LOVE IT, ok so reqad buy tresure and love for ever this book is well worth it, the characters are strong and loyal and they all come together as a great team and combination adding in all of their strenghs, julian, is still capable of love although he is evil...
lol sorry bout the caps

So very very sad!!!

This is the 3rd and final incounter between Julian and Jenny and the saddest. The whole gang is back and along the way they recover the person who "died" in the first book.

This is Julian's final chance to win the game and Jenny. They end up in what looks like an amusement park. The Goal: get past the games and get out. The Stakes: if they lose Jenny is Julian's forever (if you asked me i wouldn't say that terrible) if they win Julian will leave forever. :( along they way they encounter everything from a wizard who was once a person to the heads of the creepy guys who stole the game in book one. to lion drinking fountain that bites your hed off or in this case your arm.this time they aren't just dealing with Julian the other shadow men want jenny too. The end is a real tear jerker i was crying my eyes out and i never cry. You find out that Julian isn't really bad and jenny has done more for him then you could ever imagine.

Need to give it like 100 stars!

WEll this is actually a review for all 3 books but I'm writting it on the last one so I don't ruin the first two. These three books were so well written. Everything in them was real. I know in the first two I was afraid to walk where I could see a shadow. But L.J.Smith made everything in the final book, where as now I am not afraid of anything and almost feel protected by shadows.

In Book one Jenny is looking for a game to play at her boyfriends, Tom's, birthday party. Scared into a mysetious shop she purchases and odd box. The players begin and are swept into a differnet world...the shadow world. Each one has to face their own fear, Ultimately with Julain, the Shadow Man( in love with Jenny and kinda like the devil) playing the part of the antagonist. Through bravery trickery all but one of the players leave.

In Book two Jenny and her friends become swpet into a deadly game of cat and mouse. Julian is leaving little clues about who he will take next. But he isnt playing fairly, hes leaving the clues to late or acting to quick upon them. IN the end Her cousin Zach and Tom are stuck in the other world.

Book three(my fav) Her,Micheal,Audrey and Dee are in over there heads when the willingly enter the Shadow World to save Zach and Tom. They run into a game, actually a treasure hunt. It's in a hallucination of a theme park Jenny used to go too. You see a whole different side of Julian, a side I fell in love with because it was such a contrast.Well that's all im going to say about the third since most people reading this havent read it yet.

Decent conclusion to a great series

In the final book in The Forbidden Game Trilogy Jenny and her friends cross over into the shadow world to rescue Tom, her boyfriend, and Zach, her cousin. Once they enter the shadow world a new and even more deadly game begins because in this world, their nightmares are more real than ever. Trapped in a demonic carnival they are at the mercy of not only Julian, but all the other frightening creatures of the shadow world. Will Jenny and her friends all make it out or have they bitten off more then they can chew?

I was fairly pleased with the conclusion to the series although the ending was a bit disappointing. This is probably the most well written book out of the three. I nearly cried during some of the scenes. I was also happy that Michael got some character development at last. Actually the characters in general were handled very well, especially Julian. Besides the slightly disappointing ending, the only other complaint I have is that it was far too short. The first book in the series still remains my favorite but this one comes in at a very close second. I highly recommend this series.
