Don't Ever Change.
The title and the cover are fitting for the story that is held between the pages of William Fredrick Cooper's novel "6
Days
In
January
".
This story is of a man (William McCall) whose current love Della has just broken up with him. William takes the next 6 days to examine his past and present relationships, and more importantly his views on love. The 6 days turn into a roller-coaster ride of emotions and self- discovery.
A few years back William McCall was confident about love but when he met Andrea she slowly stripped that confidence away in a one sided relationship where William give his all and she gave nothing but heartache.
"Don't ever change" are the words often said to William by females. But he did change...when love dealt him a dirty hand and he got hurt... he did change. Then that change put him on the other side of the street; where he became insecure in his search for love, and the giver of hurt instead of the recipient.
Take some time out to read this excellent novel written by author William Fredrick Cooper.
Be prepared to read about love from a man's perspective and how love can be a double edge sword that can hurt and maim future relationships.

A great book from a male's perspective.
I heard about this book in Ebony Magazine, went out and purchased a copy, because I wanted to know if in fact men can be hurt by love. I'm certaimly glad I did. The honest words of this author caught me off guard, for I never knew there were men out there that feel this way. This is an open love letter to black women everywhere. A must read that left me wanting more.

A Real Look At Men And Their Emotions
I recently read a book, 'Six
Days
In
January
' by William F. Cooper....What a GREAT read !!! So often we women get involved in relationships with men that start out so well, and turn so bad. We wonder What happened? What's wrong with him? Why is he trippin'?!?!?! Well, this is a painfully truthful example of what our men go through emotionally, what society dictates as 'acceptable' emotional behavior for men, and we all suffer as a result.
I recommend this for all readers, men and women, alike. The main character 'William', really goes through alot with relationships and is faced with the harsh reality of who he really is and what he's really about. All I could say was WOW!!! Women, including myself, have said men have some serious issues. But to hear it from a man was like reading the Gospel. It is so. That 'emotional thing' is a monster for men, but this helps, or at least gives some insight, on what our brothers really go through emotionally. From bad relationships to the absentee father, our men really suffer sometimes as a result.
I could go on and on, but I'm going to stop here .... just go buy the book and start reading!!! It's a quick read that leaves with far more than you could ever imagine!!
(Just thought I'd pass this on. '2 thumbs up' !!!)

A Well-Written Story
I read this book after reading his insight on Breakups in EBONY magaizine. This one really made me think, as for the first time, I could relate to experiences of a man. Often times we women are so transfixed on our experiences that we fail to realize that men have feelings too. A must read for women.
A Good Read from a Fresh Perspective
Six
Days allows
the reader to see the relationship from the view of the "sensitive brother." William spends five years trying to attain the heart of his "Crumbcake." Even though he knows from the onset that she is involved with another man he still allows himself to fall fast and fall hard. William, like so, many never heals from the wounds of his first love and makes every woman pay from that point one.
After William is left out in the cold (literally) by Della, his most recent ex. He takes six days to relflect on how his past hurts have caused a failed marriage and in many ways made him a different man.
I really enjoyed this book and think it is a much better, more refined version of "Men Cry in the Dark." I could relate because like they say, everybody has played the fool.
