It was a good book, but it's not for me.

Into the Cold Fire is about a relationship between four girls who have one special thing in common: they are goddesses. This book is a must read if you like to read about a little bit of fantasy and science fiction at the same time. In a world of jealousy and betrayal, Serena and her friends (Vanessa, Jimnea, and Catty) must stand up for each other even when the time gets rough. The theme of the book is pretty simple. It is believe your friends, forgive your friends, and expect the unexpected.

One of Serena's friends, Jimnea, has premonitions (she can see the future.) She had a vision that Serena would betray them, her friends. They are the Daughters of the Moon and they are always supposed to have each other's back. Jimnea visions usually come true, so they are worried that this vision about Serena might actually come true. But, they still have Serena's back and try to help her even though Jimnea saw the vision. That is true friendship!

Better than the first but the first is great

I was nervous starting the second book because I wanted it to be as good as the first so I could forget everything happening in my life and be in the book. Serena and her brother on the beachat night made a good start that feels tense and made me want to read on. Serena thinks she's falling in love and that's when the real danger starts. I love the latin in the stories and the dancing and I love the way Jimena rescues Serena.

Into The Cold Fire
Normally I don't like to read books that are not the genre Realistic Fiction, but this book had my attention from beginning to end. This month I read Into the Cold Fire by Lynn Ewing. This book is the second in its series, Daughters of the Moon. The genre is fantasy. These books are about four girls that find each other through a retired schoolteacher, Maggie. Each one of the goddesses have a secret, a special power. Sirena can read minds, Jimena can see into the future, Vanessa can become invisible, and Catty can go back in time.
This book is about Sirena when see meets a great guy and she thinks she has found her first love. What she doesn't know is that he is really stealing her thoughts and trying to convince her to become a follower. Followers are a group of people that work for the atrox. They can read minds and are immortal. They live always in sad depression. They suck you into their minds and trap you in one of their worst memories until you give up and go through the ancient ritual of stepping into the cold fire and let in burn the goodness out of you. The goddesses have been working against them for ages. So when one of the leaders of the followers tries to give her some advice to save her, claiming that he has had a crush on her for some time, she is lost in what to do. When Sirena makes the wrong move by going against the word of her enemy and ends up in a life destroying position it's up to her friends to save her.
If you like suspense, adventure, realism and a bit of make believe then you will love this book.

One of the Best

Serena is my favorite character in the series. She can read people's minds. She also reads people's fortune from cards, but she charges 20 dollars. It starts off where she's walking on the beach, and her brother is out in the distance surfing. She keeps walking and walkling, until she comes to this group of people chanting around a fire. She gets closer and she see's that there's a person standing in the fire, and no one is doing anything about it. She runs to the person and accidently brushes her hand in the fire, but it's cold. Suddenly she recognizes some of the people chanting lecta (which means chosen one) around the fire are followers. She see's Stanton, and everything starts going down hill. He calls her by her real name, Serena, but normaly he just calls her goddess. She asks him how he knows her name. He looks at her funny and says she told him, and if she's feeling alright. Serena panicks and runs, Stanton runs after her gaining on her, and that's all she can remember, she wakes up on the beach with scratches and bruises. There's also a new kid, Zahi, and she likes him. But Stanton comes with a suprise visit, and says that Zahi is a powerfull follower, and is taking away her feelings and memories of him and her being together. But she doesn't believe him because Zahi is so sweet, or is he?
