First Time Sales Manager

At one time in my company I was the only sales person. As the company has grown so have my sales management responsibilities. I now have a team of sales people that I have never managed before this time. My sales coach - John Moore told me to read Baseline Selling and it has really helped me and my team. My thanks to John Moore and Dave Kurlan.


Baseline Selling

Before I read this book, my first impression was that it would be about the basics of B2B selling (strike one for me). And on top of it, I'm not a big baseball fan (strike two for me).

But after reading Dave Kurlan's book, I can say it provides a useful and practical approach that many b2b sales people will find helpful (hit).

I like that Kurlan doesn't try to re-invent what already works. He uniquely pulls together a well thought out process based on his best practices along with those of other experts too. Also, his passion about baseball makes his analogies come to life.

My background is working with highly complex sales and selling professional services to executives in mid-size to F1000 companies. If that describes you, then you may not find what you're looking for here.

I definately see how Kurlan's approach can be easily replicated, taught and used as a coaching guide. If your a sales person, business owner or sales leader looking for a solid sales book, this one is definitely worth a read.

A must read for sales people

A must for anyone that is in sales! The method Dave teaches is excellent and allows you to learn a different style that will produce great results.

The book was very well written as far as clarity and concise wording. It was informative and went beyond a usual teaching manual to a source I will use on a daily basis to reference the techniques and suggestions that made total since.
I will recommend the Amazon.com as my favorite online source for books and the shipping was right on time. I was extremely pleased with the whole process and will be back for any purchase I may make.

Must have for anyone looking to succeed in sales!

This book does a very good job of simplifying the sales process to one in which if you follow the steps...you will close the sale. A must have, it is always in my briefcase. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to succeed in sales. This book really "covers the bases"!!
