some of the stories are a little wierd...
I bought this collection after a friend gave us a copy of "Love You Forever." I loved that book and thought other stories by the same author would be great for my two year old. I think some of the stories are too strange for a toddler. For older children I'm sure they're fine.
Wonderful Irreverent Stories--but our binding fell apart
We got this book when my son was almost two, and more than a year later we still return to it regularly. They are irreverent stories about independent and mischievous kids. Some of the stories have become part of our family in-jokes. For example, when our son is being a picky eater, we often ask if he'd like a delicous chocolate-covered brick (from "David's Father.") I have long hair, and when I read "Stephanie's Ponytail" I retie my hair with each page. We are usually out of breath laughing by the end.
We love almost all these stories, with a couple exceptions. For some reason I find reading "Purple, Green, and Yellow" really tedious, and try to encourage my son to pick another one. The book is mostly terrific, but there are a couple "uh oh, not that one!" sections lurking.
One shortcoming: the binding on this book fell to pieces on us, and it's currently on its third or fourth patching with tape. I give it four starts instead of five for that reason.

My kids love the Munsch books
My kids love the Munsch books, they laugh out and request them over and over. I think they are cleverly written and the illustrations are great. We bought this book for my sister's family, because we love ours so much.
Great Stories Your Kids Will Love!
These stories are not only great for reading to young children, but wonderful for children learning to read themselves. Kids just love these stories and want to read them over and over. I have 3 teenagers who grew up with these stories and now I buy Mr. Munsch's books for gifts for other people's children. The stories are wonderfully creative and very entertaining, for children and adults alike.

fun for the whole family
I enjoy reading Robert Munsch's books as much as my kids enjoy hearing them! These stories are great for the whole family to enjoy over and over! You laugh, cry and groan in empathy as you read these "oh so true" stories about the extraordinary lives of ordinary children and their grownups.
