well-crafted, suspensful tale of Boston's famous murders
Kelly offers a well-crafted and suspensful rendering of
Boston's most
famous murder cases of the century. Filled with home town reminiscences of the Cambridge and Boston PD, testimony by local characters, and previously uncovered information from the friends and families of the victims, this
story
is a compelling new chapter in the continued debate of who was
Albert
DeSalvo
and was he the Strangler? Great moments include descriptions of the excesses and incompentencies of F. Lee Bailey, background on DeSalvo's peculiar pathology, exploits of a neighborhood burgler known only as the Green Man, and theories about convict (and alternative suspect) George Nassar. If you like fictional mysteries, try the real thing--it's a thrill.

Shocking and compelling read!
This
true crime
story truly
puts together the pieces of a strange puzzle. Well-written, exciting and fast-paced. Also shows how the criminal justice and legal systems can really turn things around for their own convenience, even if it means sending an innocent man to jail. Anyone interested in reading about how politics and law converge and result in disaster should read this book.
