Squares will never be boring again!

I love this book, squares are such a great project being that they are so portable, you can take them practically everywhere. This book has enough designs to make sure you will never be bored crocheting plain ole granny squares again. The designs are beautiful, the patterns easy to follow, the pictures great. Only complaint is there are several errors in the patterns, I found them on the publisher's website and wrote them in the book (as I will never be parting with it). But despite that it's a great book that any crocheter will love.

Love this book!

I love this book! My sister-in-law had it and taught me how to crochet with it. I really like that there are so many pattern, color combinations, and recommendations on how to mix and match.

200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws, and Afghans: Crochet Squares to Mix and Match

This is a great book for many... granny square designs! You'll love it! Many "traditional" designs and lot of more "modern" looking grannies! It's a have to have for your crochet library!

Good But Not for Beginners

This book has some fun blocks and the mix & match idea is nice. It is a great way to get plenty of practicewith different stitches, but if you are a beginner who wants to make enough blocks for an afghan, you will probably be a little frustrated by the errors.

I was unfortunate enough to start with a square that required a base row 3 stitches wider than the majority of the squares in the book (of course, I didn't realize this until I moved over to make the next block I had chosen). Fortunately I know enough to adjust the patterns so they all end up the same size, but if you are a true beginner you will likely not know enought to make the necessary adjustments and may be a little frustrated when you go to put your project together.

Bottom line - there are a lot of fun patterns in here and I would recommend it to someone who has at least some basic crochet skills. If you are a beginner, either make all of your blocks with exactly the same pattern or go to a different source until you learn a bit more.
