Hmmm...Haven't Found it Very Useful
I bought this book on the strength of the reviews written here, but I haven't found it very useful. I was surprised to see that this book of
lists doesn't
offer a packing list for travel, for instance (just a list of suggestions to
help
you make
your
own list!). Much of what's in here is fairly obvious stuff that's duplicated in women's magazines and other sources of organizing tips, and some of the suggestions are downright strange (the author recommends
get
ting a cheaper price at a health club by promising to use it during off hours. On what planet would this work?) Maybe this will come in handy in some unanticipated future circumstance, but not so far.

Talk about a useful book!
I like to run my
life
as simply as possible and love having all kinds of information in one place. The other day a friend of mine had a death in the family and called me up for
help with
making arrangements. I took this book down from the shelf and read her the advice about shopping for a funeral. Last night I took the book to Tar
get
and used it to shop for linens and kitchen equipment for my new apartment. This is what I call an amazingly useful book!

Pocket Encyclopedia of Everyday Living
The only danger of this info-packed little treasure is that
you could
easily misplace it. I regret to say I've already made use of the section on traffic court, and as I prepare to move into an ancient house I suspect I'll need all the others, possibly including tips on dealing with a dead body. These
lists would
be indespensable if scrawled on a blackboard, so it's a bonus that Lagatree's clever writing also makes for fun reading. Just don't lose it. I'm thinking of nailing up a copy in a prominent spot in each room of my home.
