Animorphs one of my favorite sci-fi series

Animorphs is definitely a great series from pre-teens and kids in their early teens. I really enjoyed all of the ones I've read so far. They are about five regular kids whose lives were turned upside down. When a dying alien called an Andalite comes to Earth and tells them the planet is under a secret attack from a race called Yeerks, he gives them the incredible power to morph into any animal they acquire. The Invasion starts off the whole crazy saga the kids go on to stop the Yeeks from completely taking over Earth. It's a great book that's very fun and intersting to read and I definitely recommend it!

Animorphs: The Invasion

Summary: Five kids are walking home from the mall one night when an alien spaceship comes down to them. In the spaceship is an alien called an Andantilite. The Andantilite comes down to the kids and tells them that another group of alien's had already invaded earth, the alien that had already invaded the earth, were small enough that they crawl through the humans ear and start to control them, they are then called human-controllers. He also told them that all throughout the universe there are other species of animals, and aliens that are also being controlled. The Andandtilite then gave the kids power to morph, morph into animals, thus the name Animorphs. These five kids will have save the world from these controllers, by using the power to morph and use the special features that each one of their animals has. They will have to learn to overcome the mind of the animal from overtaking their mind and to learn as much as possible about these controllers
Recommendation: I would recommend this book to kids in 5th or 6th grade, a boy or a girl and/ or kids that enjoy reading SciFI and kids that enjoy books that have a lot of suspense, and action like this book does.

The Animorphs series is actually just 65 books, but there was one parody made, so i'll include that. Anyway, the Animporh series spans 54 'regular' books, 4 Megamorphs, 1 "meet the cast of animorphs" book, 2 "Alternamorphs" books, 5 'Chronicals" books, and one parody. Each book is told from the perspective of one of six people: Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Marco, Cassie, and Ax. This book focuses on Jake, and is the start of the series. Nearly each book starts the same, "My name is ______. Just ______." Anyway, this book tells about how Jake and the crew (minus Ax, we don't know about him until the 6th book) gained the power to morph from a dying alien. He warned them of an enemy, Yeerks, which are parasitic aliens that crawl in through your ear and controll your brain. The power to morph allows them to become animals. However, they cannot stay in a morph for more than 2 hours or they will be stuck in that morph forever!

Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Tobias, and Marco were just average teenagers when they decided to take the shortcut home through the abandoned construction site. But in that construction site, they learned the secret from Elfangor, a dying Andalite. Things called Yeerks have the power to invade the bodies of anyone. The Yeerks plan to take over the world by doing this. And now, Elfangor has given the five kids the power to morph into any animal they want. Using this power, they can fight the Yeerks.

At first, the kids just want to believe that their experience was all a dream. But they realize that it's no dream when they try out their morphing powers. Things get even more scary when Jake discovers that his brother, Tom, has been invaded by a Yeerk. Now, it's up to them to destroy the Yeerks and save the world. They are the Animorphs.

THE INVASION is the first Animorphs book, and it is definitely an amazing way to start out the series. We learn about all the major characters and some of the species that most humans are unfamiliar with. And although this book appears to be for kids, it's pretty intense. I would recommend this book (and series) to anyone--especially people who love sci-fi.

The Animorphs

Katherine A. Applegate writes a cool story about aliens.
Though short, this book is very good.
For the next 20, maybe 30 books in this series, it stays good. Unfortunately, it goes on until book 52, and it is not very good for those last 22 books.
But once you start it, you want to know what happens in the end.
And because you want to hear more about
Marco, the funny one;
Jake, the leader;
Cassie, the animal lover;
Rachel, the reckless one;
Tobias, the 'bird-boy';
and Axe, the alien who joins them.
Not to mention all the other aliens that are really neat - the Andalite's, the Yerks, the Hork-Bajir, and everything else.
