To be continued??

Overall I found this book to be good, yet the end left you "in the air." It had no closure. Also, it appears that this book is the last in the series! This is a very good series about real problems teens face. I hope that Ann M. Martin continues to write these books. But getting back to the book,I suggest that you read Ducky, Diary Three, but be prepared to be disapointed in the ending.

PRETTY GOOD

THIS BOOK WAS GOOD, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE REST OF THE SERIES. THE STORY WAS FOCUSED ON SUNNY & DUCKY, BUT THE WAY THEY STARTED TO BECOME "MORE THAN FRIENDS" WAS WEIRD. IT WAS WEIRD BECAUSE OF HOW ALL OF A SUDDEN DUCKY IS ATTRACTED TO SUNNY IN A DIFFERENT WAY AND IS SUDDENLY AFRAID OF HER. OVERALL, IT WASN'T BAD.

Ghost Writer at Large?

I'm a huge fan of the series "The California Diaries", for the series has always been awesome, the characters terrific, and the series never ceases to truly move me. Some of the best books I have ever read were written in this series, especially Sunny, Diary 3. Ducky is one of my favorite characters, I love the offbeat writing style he uses and his loveable Ducky-ish quirks. Yet after excitedly purchasing this book (which seemed to come out 10,000 years later than it should have), I was disappointed already on the second page. The style was boring, and didn't reflect Martin's superb young adult writing skills. I finished the book just for the sake of it, and it did get a bit better towards the end, but I was saddened with how shallow and pointless the writing in this book seemed. The series has been going so slowly now, but I really hope Ann M. Martin continues it. I'm fifteen and I can relate to everything in this series, and I love how great the writing (usually) is.

Compared to some other young adult books, this particular Ducky book is about a three-star. Compared to the rest of the series, it's a one or two star, simply because it didn't measure up to Martin's usual quality. The reason I titled this review "Ghost Writer at Large" is simply because I think the book was written as if the publisher got another writer to pen this book in a similar style of Martin's. If you love and adore this series, I suggest reading this book just to know what's going on now, but don't get your hopes up. If you're brand new and fresh to the series, either start from the beginning or jump around. Amalia, Diary 1 is a great book to start off with if you want to jump around, Ducky and Maggie are great too. So is Sunny. The series has been so slow I've been worried they're going to be discontinued, but hopefully Ann M. Martin will realize how touching this series is and keep on writing for it. Until then, I'll be waiting :). If you're interested in any other great young adult books try anything by Lois Duncan or John Marsden's "Tomorrow When the War Began" series.

ehhh...

The book was aight, but it was kinda weird.Sunny starts giving Ducky weird looks that he doesn't understand until Brendan tells him that he think Sunny like him. Then Ducky is all paranoid and stuff when Sunny asks him if he wants to go to the movies. At the end of the date, Sunny ends up kissing him.It ends good though...

Ducky Diary Three

I liked the other ones much better. All the Ducky books are kind of soap operish anyway, But this one took the cake. If Dawn is anything like this I am not buying it. I must say that I was really disappointed.
