Compared to some other young adult books, this particular Ducky book is about a three-star. Compared to the rest of the series, it's a one or two star, simply because it didn't measure up to Martin's usual quality. The reason I titled this review "Ghost Writer at Large" is simply because I think the book was written as if the publisher got another writer to pen this book in a similar style of Martin's. If you love and adore this series, I suggest reading this book just to know what's going on now, but don't get your hopes up. If you're brand new and fresh to the series, either start from the beginning or jump around. Amalia, Diary 1 is a great book to start off with if you want to jump around, Ducky and Maggie are great too. So is Sunny. The series has been so slow I've been worried they're going to be discontinued, but hopefully Ann M. Martin will realize how touching this series is and keep on writing for it. Until then, I'll be waiting :). If you're interested in any other great young adult books try anything by Lois Duncan or John Marsden's "Tomorrow When the War Began" series.
