Dawn Rochelle

Dawn Rochelle is a miserble teen. She has just discovered that she has leukimia, and that she will have to spend an uncertain amount of time at the hospital, receiving chemotherapy and losing her hair, weight, and happiness. No one understands what she's going through, even though they try. Then Dawn meets Sandy, a sweet girl from West Virginia, who is also her roommate at the hospital. Since they both have leukimia, they are able to comfort, confide, and enjoy each other. But will either of them survive to be lifelong friends?

"Six Months to Live" was sad, but enjoyable. It was truly terrible what Dawn went through, being skinny and bruised, losing hair and constantly nausious. Even though this is a fictional story, real cancer patients have to go through what she went through. This book really tugged at my emotions, and it also taught me a lot about cancer. It was a very entertaining book that mixed the usual pre-teen story about romance, friendship, misery, happiness, etc. with a touching story about a girl with cancer. I can't wait to read the next book!

to live for me

"Dawn Rochelle you have leukemia." Was that the news you would like to hear at the age of thirteen? At the age of thirteen she went to the doctor for a check up and never expected to here the news she has cancer. Now she is battling for her life. This book is an inspiring book for people who have got cancer and are looking to fight it.

Dawn has to stay in a hospital in order to meet remission, where she gets to go home and become an outpatient. Dawn is put in a room with a roommate. Dawn sees as having a roommate that much worse. When she meets Sandy they become best friends. It is always nice to have some one to understand what you are going through. Sandy is that friend for Dawn. Sandy is doing very well in fighting cancer. When Dawn finds out she has a fever and must be moved so doctors can watch her 24-hours a day.

Dawn is diagnosed with a cold. To us that is not a big deal but to Dawn it could mean her life. Her body is not strong enough to fight off another illness. The doctors give her medication hoping that will be enough. Will medication be enough to help Dawn survive a minor cold?

You think you have had it bad until you see other people that's has got it worse than you do. Luelene McDaniel's is an author to show you that you don't have it as bad as some people. You can continue reading about Dawn Rochelle in I want to live, So Much to Live for, No Time to Cry, and To Live Again.

This book is for anyone who gets caught up in books that want to make you cry. This book is also for readers who had or have got cancer and need to see how a young girl handled it.

You'll Love This book

What i liked about this book is that the illness is cancer. I liked that they picked cancer because you loose your hair and it shows that not everyone can have as much as you do. Also you shouldn't make fun of or point at people that have cancer. It also tells what happens when you get cancer, so if you have a family member or you are getting cancer then you know what will happen to you or them. It also shows what you will go threw and it is just a really sad book and you'll want to read every book that Lurlene McDaniel.

Dawn's Cancer Surprise

In Six Months To Live, Dawn Rochelle is a perfectly normal, 13 year old girl. She is a cheerleader with a normal life and perfectly normal friends, but there is one thing that makes her feel as though she is different from everyone else.Dawn was 13 years old and attending the 7th grade when she was diagnosed with cancer. She ends up meeting a girl named Sandy who is just like her. Sandy and Dawn become best friends and do so many things together. They go to cancer camp, and they meet two boys named Greg and Mike. They all really like each other, and they pull a great prank on Dr. Ben (the camp director), but the summer comes to an end, and it is time to go back to school. They all four agree to write each other and to come back the next year, will they all make it back?...
If anyone asks me, I would definately recommend that you read this book! It is the kind of book that will really make you think about how good your life is right now, and how it would be if you had a hard life like Dawn does in this book. You may not think your life is just how you would like it to be, but after you read this book, you will really appreciate what your own life is like. You should definately read this book, and then finish by reading the whole series.

Six Months To Live - A Beautiful Journey

The book is beautifully written, simple and understanding. It's been a long time since I've cried over a book, but "Six Months To Live" was one worth crying for. I truly enjoyed the book; the characters were believable and warm and the plot heartwrenching.
It's definately a great book, one that deserves more than 5 stars. I would recommend this book not only for children right above 10, but for adults too...for anyone who has a heart.
