THE BEST BOOK

o my gosh, this is the best cal diary ever made! It is so good. I actually started crying in it! Its a must read!

Not your regular book

Usually teenage series are kind of dumb, without much insight, just who likes who and what theyre wearing... etc. This series is totally different. The books are really deep and deal with painful issues in a realistic way (though I do feel that the protagonists don't quite come across as being 13, more like 18.) I think that this book about the death of Sunny's mother was one of the saddest most profound books i ever read. I cried almost the entire time i read the book- I havent done that in a really long time. I would reccommend this book to anyone ( though i do think they are kind of heavy for 9-12 year olds, i have a 9 year old sister and i think theses books would kind of disturb her.) Even though this is more of a young adult series, i think that adults could get alot out of this book.

The best in the series... wondeful yet heart wrenching...

This book was wondeful, and [at least in my opinion] it was probably the best in the series. its incredibly sad and heart wrenching, the torment sunny went through trying to deal with her mothers condition, and her death... I could almost feel her pain. And seeing how strong sunny was.. and how she overcame some of it... the emotion she showed, turning to her friends in her time of need. The fact that her friends didn't desert her, (as some might, cuz they could have felt weird or uneasy) made her a stronger person as well. So anyway, i give this book 5 stars... its excellent, you should definetley buy it. And if you don't believe me? read the dozens of other reviews here...? Lol, but its your decision, of course. :) but if you buy it, you'll like it, i promise :)

Hits Home (for me, at least)

This book is a masterpiece. It hit so close to home for me. I have a plauge of cancer in my family, and I lost my father to cancer. It made me think hard about family values. I've cried maybe once in the past 5 years, but when I read this book, I couldn't stop. I still have tear stains on the pages of the book. If you don't already own this book, go buy it now. You won't regret it. promise.

Very moving

This is the best book I've ever read. It's completely heartbreaking. The part I cried the hardest at was when Sunny made up a list of things she wanted to say to her mom as they were saying goodbye. Anyone who likes the other California Diaries, or just wants to read a good book,get this one!!
