Girl With Silver Eyes

Girl with Silver Eyes
Most children have blue, green, and brown eyes. All accept Katie Welker . Katie is a normal 12-year-old girl although she has silver eyes and can levitate objects with her mind. When Katie is accused of her grandmother's death everyone thinks she's weird. She knows she is different but she never meant to hurt any one. Willo Davis is trying to show you how everybody has a unique nack about him or her.
But Was Katie's the true cause of her grandmother's death? Living in a big city is hard for Katie and she's all alone well, her moms always at work and she has no friends. Until she meats three kids with weird power like hers.
Willo Davis Roberts grew up in Michigan and is now currently living in Washington state with her husband David, whom is also a author and photographer. As a mother of eight, and grandmother of twelve, I would say she knows what the people want to read.

"The Girl With The Silver Eyes" Review

"The Girl With The Silver Eyes"

The Book The Girl With The Silver Eyes is about a girl named Katie who has the ability to move things without touching them. She used to live with her Grandmother, but recently she died, so then she goes to live with her mother. She makes a few friends while living in the apartment with her mom. A while after Katie moves in a man named Mr. Cooper moves in. He seems like a nice man and Katie stars to become his friend. Then one day she finds out that Mr. Cooper is asking people questions about Katie. Katie gets worried and thinks that Mr. Cooper is a policeman and he thinks that Katie killed her Grandma, so runs away. She figures out that there are other children like herself and she goes out to find them. She finally finds them and the children tell her that Mr. Cooper doesn't want to arrest her. Her mother just thought that she had been murdered. Mr. Cooper tells them that he was asking question about Katie because he new she could do things that other people can't. He told all 4 kids that he has a special school for people like them and they can go there if they want.
I didn't like this book because I thought it was kind of strange when the book said, "Did she dare to stay in the apartment? Was it safe now that Mr. C had openly revealed himself as if a police officer investigating her grandmother's death?"(page 133) She didn't even sure why he was talking to people about her. I also didn't like the book that much because in my opinion the ending was bad. The author could have ended it with the children's decisions whether to go to the school or not. Although, she decided o end the story with telling the reader that the kids will all have fun together. Or she could have ended the book with a better, more creative, and more interesting ending.
I enjoyed reading this book because the story was pretty interesting. It kept me entertained with all of the things she did to people especially Mr. Pollard. I also liked it when she found all of the children who were like her. That way she wouldn't feel alone in the in the world and she would have some friends. That way she could talk to people about her abilities. When she first realized that there were people like her the book said, "Katie was so excited tat she nearly choked on a peanut butter sandwich."(page 60) I was glad to know that Katie was able to find people like herself.
My favorite part of the book was when she got to meet each child like herself. I was glad that she did find them because everyone deserves to have a friend and be happy. Before she met the other children, she was miserable because she had no one to talk to. She only could talk to her neighbor Mrs. Michealmas who was and older woman. It was good that she had someone to talk to, although she need someone her age to be around. Overall this book was o.k., but it was not my favorite.
