A Great Transitional Piece That Also Entertains

MA Thakor's book is not only entertaining, but a great self-help book on coping with transitions. The step-by-step approach is something that anyone and everyone can do ... when faced with change or the knowledge that change is probably needed. I am on "the other side of 40", and found it enlightening in terms of awareness about a "path not chosen". The engaging dialogue keeps the reader interested, as does what appears to be complete honesty. The author does not preach, but takes the reader on an introspective journey. I have ordered other copies for my friends. I believe the book really transcends age-specific issues...I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Fun and informative

I found The Other Side of Thirty to be a fun, quick read, but also very thought provoking. I enjoyed following Ani's adventures in dating, but also found her thoughts and advice on serious subjects to be meaningful and helpful, even for a 30+ married gal! I really liked the fact that the author draws from a wide variety of sources, from poets to authors to celebrities, to form her unique perspective on topics ranging from self-confidence to personal finance. I think any woman, married or not, would enjoy her frank discussion of issues all women face throughout their lives.

This book should be required reading for all women!...

I recently read The Trials of Tiffany Trott as well as Bridget Jones Diary and found both books funny but I absolutely loved this book! As a 30ish single female that is career driven it was great to finally read a book that addresses the perils of being single while building a career. If only dating were as easy as managing our careers! M.A. Thakor does a wonderful job of taking us through the twists and turns of Ani Spencer's journey to find love. I'm sending this book to all my single female friends!!

Relating to Ani

I love Ani Spencer...in fact, I probably like this somewhat neurotic, spunky, fiesty girl because I see myself in her. Her day to day trials and tribulations just made me laugh because I didn't REALLY believe that other people (woman) dissect things quite the way I do. This book is an easy read because it's like getting e-mails from a friend. Ani is witty and down-to-earth. And, as an added bonus, you get some great ideas about how to tweek your own life...share this one with friends...she's TERRIFIC!!!!
