He never lets me down
Another great book by Mr. Rice. If you enjoyed his other books, this one will not disappoint.
He never fails...
I am not one of those who ever pays opening price on a book, but when I saw that a new Christopher Rice
novel
was on it's way, my bank account was gonna take a hit. You never know what to expect from his books and I read this one non-stop from the moment I got it to the finish. His characters are always so real and easy to connect to, but his subject matter is so unpredictable. Getting his book is like being a kid at Christmas about to open a present with no idea of the contents, but then cherishing what you receive. I would also like to thank him for the way he showed the men of the armed services. Having the friends and family I do, gay and straight, who make great sacrifices to do what they do for their country and loved ones and then being misunderstood and treated poorly is all too common. Either way, READ THIS BOOK!
(FYI, I am pro-peace and I do not always agree with our government, but I do ALWAYS support our troops. I have men and women in my family in almost every branch of the service, the only thing that kept me out of the Navy like my dad, uncle and grandfather was not being able to be Gay and a Service Member. For the record I have been involved with and been friends with many men of the armed services and if they ever had a problem with my sexuality they were quick to get over it, so what the hell is taking the government so long? *off my soapbox now* )
I am a HUGE fan of Anne Rice and Christopher Rice. The talent shared by the mother and son is almost unbelievable! Read all of his books and then turn around and read her Vampire Chronicles. They are a treat of a whole different flavor.

Christopher Rice matures...
This book is a vast improvement over Light Before Day. Christopher has gained control of his characters and the manipulation of the plot. A Density of Souls is still my favorite book he has written but this one is a close second. John and Alex are complex characters who are thrown together in a vast number of circumstances that pulls at your heart and carries your interest from page to page.
Blind
Fall
has an extremely captivating plot and absorbing characters that are tied together in a heartfelt manner that will dazzle every reader. Blind Fall is compelling and entertaining. I highly recommend it!

Rice does it again
When I read a book, I see the story play out in one of a few ways. Some of the time, I see the story as a surreal world that you could easily
fall into
. Other times, I see it as a bold piece where every color seems to lash out and bite out. And sometimes, I see it as scarily realistic.
Scarily realistic is how I saw
Blind Fall
, and it is exactly how I see all of Christopher Rice's work. That's the thing that I like about Christopher; he can turn any kind of scenario into something realistic.
In the beginning of the story, our main character, John Houck, is distraught over an email from his sister back in America. It doesn't help in the field of battle when you recently learn that your brother has killed himself, and it doesn't help when you know why. This small error nearly costs his marine friend's life.
A few years later, John wants to try and meet up with Mike. An old friend's told him where Mike lives, and John intends to make up for it. When John finally makes his way out to Mike's house, he finds more than he expected, primarily Mike's male lover, right after he discovered Mike's butchered body.
When John chases down the secret lover, Alex, and hurts him for fear that he is the one that killed Mike, Alex says otherwise. When they finally get back in the house, Mike's body is gone, and John and Alex are thrust into a journey that neither of them expected.
The thing I like about Christopher Rice's work is that it's real. Christopher's work is not the sugar-coated crap of writing we see in modern-day literature. Christopher uses his skill to the best of his ability, and it always pays off.
I decided that Christopher Rice was my favorite author after I read A Density of Souls, and if you're looking for any of his work, you can't go wrong with Blind Fall, or any of his other work for that matter.

Much Better than Anticipated
I fell in love with "density of souls" and slowly lost interest in his books as they progressed, but in
Blind
Fall
my love for Chris Rice was re-established.
He slowed down his writing, finally, and didn't try to overwhelm us with different plot lines and characters running all over the place. His newest
novel
has a sense of uniformity and solidarity that was slowly leaving his writing as he progressed.
Great job, Chris.
